Hyatt Centric to enter Africa with Cairo opening

The new Hyatt Centric Cairo West lifestyle hotel is set to become the second Hyatt-branded property in Egypt’s capital city.

The 283-key hotel will join the 2021-opened Hyatt Regency Cairo West in Cairo’s well-established Pyramids Heights Business Park.

A milestone signing

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced the news that affiliates of Hyatt and ALDAU Development have entered into a franchise agreement to develop Hyatt Centric Cairo West as the Hyatt Centric brand’s first hotel in Egypt.

“We are proud to work with ALDAU Development to bring the Hyatt Centric brand to Egypt,“ said Ludwig Bouldoukian, regional vice president of development, Middle East and Africa, at Hyatt.

“This signing is an exciting milestone as the hotel will mark the Hyatt Centric brand debut in Africa, showcasing our commitment to enhancing our lifestyle portfolio, and growing our brand presence in markets that matter most to our guests and World of Hyatt members.”

Locally inspired design

The 283-room lifestyle hotel will showcase elements of the local culture through the lens of contemporary artists, with decor that references Egyptian crafts, pharaonic heritage and the country’s pop culture. Highlights of this design-led hotel will include an art wall, inspiring indoor social space, a heated outdoor pool and landscaped gardens.

The property will place guests by major business hubs and key tourist attractions at Cairo’s western end. Here, the hotel will provide the ideal launchpad for exploration of the neighbourhood and beyond.

Commenting on the plans, Eng. Bassel Sami Saad, Chairman of ALDAU Development, said: “We are delighted to collaborate with Hyatt to deliver our second distinctive hotel experience in this prime location.”

“With the city’s key attractions easily accessible, including the Grand Egyptian Museum and Giza Pyramids, the lifestyle property will be the perfect fit for the cosmopolitan-minded business and leisure travellers looking for accommodation in this increasingly popular neighbourhood.”
