Hyatt Centric comes to Cambridge

by | 19 Oct 2021 | Design

Designed by a team that includes dRMM and AvroKO, Hyatt Centric’s first UK scheme features 150 stylish guestrooms near one of the world’s top universities.

Hyatt Centric Cambridge has started welcoming guests keen to explore this famous city.

A UK first for Hyatt Centric

Representing Hyatt Centric’s debut in the UK, this contemporary property is located just outside the city centre, within the Eddington neighbourhood being developed by the University of Cambridge. It boasts 150 rooms in total, as well as state-of-the-art facilities.

“We are thrilled to open the doors of Hyatt Centric Cambridge,” said Martin Newbould, general manager of Hyatt Centric Cambridge. “Cambridge is one of the most iconic cities in the UK thanks to its magnificent architecture, university buildings and historic centre.

The hotel’s location allows curious guests to make the most of what the destination has to offer. We are excited for our guests to enjoy the hotel’s array of facilities including our distinct bar, restaurant and coffeeshop, which offer savvy travellers share-worthy experiences.”

Designed for comfort

Hyatt Centric Cambridge, designed by Stirling Prize winner dRMM with interiors by AvroKO, provides a convenient base for seeing the sights. Guestrooms feature art deco flourishes and are decorated with plush fabrics and furnishings such as velvet and walnut.

The hotel is organised around an internal courtyard, and the social space on the ground floor is bright and airy, with pops of colour in the carefully curated selection of artworks and greenery that adorns the spaces. Among other amenities, it features a comfy co-working area, two flexible meeting rooms, a gym and a fitness centre.

The property also benefits from having four distinctive F&B outlets. There’s Kota’s coffeeshop, for hot drinks and baked goods; Kota restaurant, specialising in Finnish-style charcoal cooking and community dining; The Dutch, a cocktail bar perfect for evening drinks and snacks; and a seasonal rooftop bar and terrace, ideal for sipping imaginative cocktails and sampling small bites.
