Holiday Inn Express launches a new project in Bengaluru, further growing InterContinental Hotels Group midscale brand presence in India.

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), recently signed a management agreement for a new Holiday Inn Express hotel in Bengaluru.

We take a closer look at this new project.

Growing IHG’s midscale offering in India

To further expand its midscale hotel offering, IHG has signed an agreement with Tanishq Grande Hotels & Resorts Private Limited for the new Holiday Inn Express Bengaluru Bommasandra.

While currently under construction, this new 170-room property is expected to open by the end of 2022. It will join IHG’s three other Holiday Inn Express hotels in the city.

Commenting on the announcement, Sudeep Jain, Vice President, Development, IHG South West Asia said: “We are excited to collaborate with Thanishq Grande Hotels & Resorts Private Limited for a new Holiday Inn Express Hotel in Bengaluru. The brand has received a phenomenal response in India and in the last couple of years, we have significantly increased the brand’s footprint across key cities. This growth is also aligned with our strategy to expand our midscale offering and cater to the increasing number of domestic, ‘blesiure’ travellers in the country.”

“Bengaluru is one of the fastest-growing major metropolis in India and we see tremendous opportunity in the market to expand our portfolio across segments. Earlier this year, we announced the signing of an InterContinental hotel and a Crowne Plaza hotel in Bengaluru. With the new Holiday Inn Express signing, we are expanding our offering and catering to the needs of various guest segments with varying preferences and needs, visiting the city,” Mr Jain added.

Holiday Inn Express has been gaining momentum in India recently. By opening 10 new hotels in key Indian cities, the midscale brand has made IHG one of the country’s leading hospitality players.

The perfect spot for business travellers

The Holiday Inn Express Bengaluru Bommasandra will be close to the Narayana Institute of Cardiac Sciences, Electronic City, one of India’s largest Electronic and IT Industrial parks and near Bommasandra Industrial Area.

On top of that, its proximity to the city centre and Bengaluru International Airport makes it the perfect hotel for corporate guests.

The efficiently designed rooms will include areas to both work and relax. Guests are also invited to spend time in the ‘Great Room’, the brand’s signature public space where people can meet, unwind and socialize.

Additional amenities include a gym, a business centre and meeting rooms.

Mr. S. Sudeesh, Director, Thanishq Grande Hotels & Resorts Private Limited, said: “We are pleased to partner with IHG, a leading hospitality player, for Holiday Inn Express Bengaluru Bommasandra. The hotel will benefit from an excellent location, and with its contemporary design and great service culture, it will be a popular choice amongst the travellers visiting the city.”

“IHG is known to have a strong distribution system, and a great loyalty programme and we are confident this will add to the success of the hotel. We look forward to working with IHG and welcoming our guests in 2022,” Mr Sudeesh went on to say.
