History abounds at Voco’s sophomore offering in the Americas

IHG has launched its second Voco-branded hotel in the region, a 50-key property in St Augustine, Florida characterised by upscale amenities and an unstuffy atmosphere.
Voco St Augustine – Historic Area is a stunningly designed scheme that recalls bygone eras in this charming Floridian city.
Historic hospitality in Florida
IHG is celebrating the opening of Voco St Augustine – Historic Area, an exciting property located on the Atlantic coast in the Nation’s Oldest City. This hotel, only the second under the brand’s umbrella in the Americas, is a fully formed expression of the signature Voco offering.
Boasting eye-catching design and laidback comfort, the scheme is conveniently located close to the city’s downtown area, increasing its appeal among discerning travellers. Indeed, guests based here can easily explore popular destinations like Anastasia Island, Matanzas Bay, the Lightner Museum and the St Augustine Lighthouse.
The hotel’s general manager Scott Russom said: “We are thrilled to host guests visiting St Augustine and invite them to come on in and feel the Voco difference. Together with IHG, we’ve created a hotel experience that’s unique to the market. Our elevated design and personalised service deliver a premium stay, while the unstuffy atmosphere allows guests to be themselves.”
An upscale experience
The upscale property features a standout bar with a hand-crafted countertop displaying various blues and golds against a pearlised background, as well as a fun rooftop pool. Each of its 50 guestrooms, meanwhile, is decked out with the finest linens and most comfortable furnishings, creating a relaxing enclave from which to enjoy the city.
“The opportunity to reinvigorate a local property that celebrates this historic area while delivering a playful, trusted experience to our guests instantly attracted us to this unique project,” said Bryan Greiner, president of the Augustine Development Group. “As a St Augustine company, we’re proud to bring the unique character and premier offerings of the Voco brand to the local community under the trusted umbrella of IHG Hotels & Resorts.”
