Hilton’s Tapestry Collection is set to hit the APAC market soon with two exciting new properties in Taiwan and New Zealand.

Hilton’s soft brand the Tapestry Collection is set to touch down in the Asia Pacific market for the first time, following the signing of two new hotels, the Hotel Resonance Taipei, Tapestry Collection by Hilton and The Modern Christchurch, Tapestry Collection by Hilton.

We take a look inside this new endeavour for the brand.

Tapestry Collection expands into Asia Pacific

Hilton announced the signing of an agreement with Prince Housing & Development Corp to develop two new hotels in the Asia Pacific market, one in Taiwan and another in New Zealand.

Slated to open in 2020 and 2021, the hotels in Taipei and Christchurch will mark the Tapestry Collection’s first foray into Asia and represent an expansion into this market for Hilton’s upscale portfolio of hotels under the soft brand’s umbrella.

Matt Fry, senior vice president for development at Hilton, Asia Pacific, spoke of the deals, saying, “With the continued rise in travel from across the region from the growing middle class, we see incredible growth opportunity and appetite for our brands in Asia Pacific.”

“As we continue to expand our footprint in this part of the world, we’re excited to be strengthening Hilton’s presence by pioneering the Tapestry Collection brand in Taipei and Christchurch in addition to our portfolio of hotels,” Mr Fry elaborated.

Weaving its way into Asia Pacific

The two new Tapestry Collection signings will bring the brand into Taiwan and New Zealand, with the Hotel Resonance Taipei, Tapestry Collection by Hilton and The Modern Christchurch, Tapestry Collection by Hilton.

“We’re thrilled to debut the Tapestry Collection by Hilton in Asia Pacific with the signing of these two new hotels in Taipei and Christchurch,” said Jenna Hackett, global head, Tapestry Collection by Hilton.

“On the heels of our recent announcement to enter Europe, we are excited to expand our global presence to bring more travellers the original experiences that Tapestry Collection by Hilton has to offer in these incredible destinations.”

The Hotel Resonance Taipei, Tapestry Collection by Hilton will be in the centre of the Taiwanese capital close to business, entertainment and shopping districts, and so will appeal to both business and leisure travellers.

The hotel is conveniently close to cultural sights and landmarks, such as the Huashan Cultural and Creative Park and the National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall.

Guests can choose from the 175 rooms and suites, and can avail of the hotel’s F&B outlets as well as a state-of-the-art fitness centre.

The Modern Christchurch, Tapestry Collection by Hilton is an art-focused hotel in the city’s CBD, and a carefully curated collection of art by some of New Zealand’s best contemporary and emerging artists will grace the walls.

This hotel will be designed in the modernist style and will reflect Christchurch’s architectural and design history.

“We are thrilled to be bringing the Tapestry Collection by Hilton brand to Christchurch’s CBD and adding to the quality accommodation stock,” said Raman Sarin, chairman, Sarin Investments.

“The hotel will be truly extraordinary and unlike anything else currently open or planned in Christchurch.”
