Hilton Worldwide is to open its first property in the French city of Lille thanks to a conversion project.

Occupying a prime location in the city centre, the 124-guest-room Hilton Lille will continue to welcome guests and trade as a Hilton affiliated hotel before fully rebranding under Hilton Hotels & Resorts in 2024, following a multimillion-euro renovation.

Dual appeal

Hilton Lille will offer stylish, upscale accommodation in the heart of Lille, aiming to appeal to both business and leisure travellers.

Features will include Europa, the hotel’s restaurant complete with mezzanine seating area, the Cooper bar serving a range of refreshments, and a fully-equipped fitness centre.

New investment

Investment in the hotel will see the addition of a new executive lounge area with complimentary food and refreshments.

Hilton Lille will also boast 360 sq m of meeting space set across seven meeting rooms, suitable for events, conferences and social engagements.

Steep growth trajectory

Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Hilton, said: “Hilton’s portfolio in France is on a steep growth trajectory, and we now have more than 45 hotels trading or under development.

“This growth is fuelled by demand for our brands, allowing us to develop our portfolio of properties in a number of important destinations. Lille is a thriving market, and Hilton Lille will be an exciting arrival when it welcomes guests next year.”

Upcoming openings

Hilton Lille will join 23 trading hotels in France across Hilton’s brands Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts , Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Canopy by Hilton, Curio Collection by Hilton, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, DoubleTree by Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, and Hampton by Hilton.

Upcoming French openings include a trio planned in and around Paris: the 118-key Hilton Paris Eiffel Tower, arriving in January; Hampton by Hilton Paris Chevilly Larue, bringing 333 rooms online within the capital’s southern suburb in Q1 2025; and the 150-key Canopy by Hilton Quartier Latin, due in Q4 2027.
