Hilton opens Hilton Tangier Al Houara Resort and Spa in Morocco
Hilton’s third property in Morocco has opened on Tangier’s beachfront.
The Hilton Tangier Al Houara Resort and Spa provides guests with the perfect spot from which to explore the exotic port city of Tangier, with its bazaars, Kasbah and maze-like streets.
The 304-key property has direct access to a five-kilometre sandy beach, as well as a luxurious spa, where guests can indulge in specialised treatments, or use the jacuzzi or one of the two outdoor swimming pools.
“Morocco is a thriving destination that welcomed more than 12 million visitors last year,” said Rudi Jagersbacher, Hilton President for the Middle East, Africa and Turkey.
“We are pleased to continue expanding our presence in the country and hope that this will also support the Moroccan government’s tourism goal of making Morocco one of the top 20 tourist destinations in the world by 2020.”
Hilton Honors wins big at the 2019 FlyerTalk Awards
Hilton’s awards program Hilton Honors was the night’s biggest sensation at the FlyerTalk Hotel Awards, where the loyalty scheme took home all six awards on the night in the hotel category.
The Honors program was awarded the top accolade in every category of Best Hotel Rewards Program and Outstanding Benefit, which spanned the five market regions of America, Asia, Europe, Middle East and Oceania.
The awards, voted by FlyerTalk members, laud travel brands’ loyalty programs in the fly, stay, drive categories, and Hilton won over voters with its breakfast options, room upgrades and health and wellness programs.
Hilton’s Clean the World project gives back to outstanding staff
Hilton values its staff, and one of its latest ethical initiatives, participating in Clean the World campaigns, is further proof of the group’s commitment to its workers and environmental issues.
The Clean the World program promotes hygiene among underprivileged communities by recycling the used soap from Hilton hotel rooms and sending it to places where basic hygiene is difficult to access.
Hilton relies heavily on its staff to collect these soaps, and one particular Hilton employee, Serby Castro, who works in the Embassy Suites by Hilton, Lake Buena Vista, Florida, truly believes in the benefit of this program.
Her commitment to Clean the World didn’t go unnoticed, and as a thank you to Serby, Hilton flew her back home to the Dominican Republic to see the impact her work, and that of Clean the World, is having.
The campaign is also inspired by John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s Bed-In For Peace, which took place in Room 702 at the Hilton Amsterdam in 1969.
