Hilton rolls out largest APAC hotel to date
Boasting 1,080 rooms and more than 25,000 sq ft of event facilities, Hilton Singapore Orchard is the result of a refurbishment of the former Mandarin Orchard Singapore.
Hilton Worldwide’s sprawling new outpost in South-East Asia is certainly turning plenty of heads.
Elevating Singapore’s hospitality scene
The new Hilton Singapore Orchard is the Virginia-headquartered hospitality company’s largest hotel in APAC so far, with 1,080 rooms and suites in total. It also benefits from a prime location on the city-state’s bustling Orchard Road.
Alan Watts, president of Asia Pacific at Hilton, said: “Today, we celebrate a key milestone with the opening of our largest hotel in Asia Pacific. Hilton Singapore Orchard is a fantastic showcase of our flagship brand and places us in a strong position to usher in a new era of travel.”
The Hilton-managed scheme is owned by OUE Commercial REIT. It has been converted from an existing property, Mandarin Orchard Singapore, following an extensive renovation programme.
“As one of the largest hospitality companies in the world, Hilton is renowned for its strong brand recognition, global distribution network and successful loyalty programme – all of which combined will provide our property with a competitive advantage and enhance its positioning in the market,” said Brian Riady, deputy chief executive officer and executive director, OUE. “We are confident Hilton Singapore Orchard will be a leading lifestyle destination for locals and travellers alike.”
Hilton shows its commitment to South-East Asia
Singapore has long been one of the most important commercial hubs in South-East Asia, so perhaps it’s no surprise that Hilton has decided to cement its presence here with such an impactful hotel opening. Hilton Singapore Orchard’s design references the city-state’s colonial history and agricultural heritage, while the property also strives to deliver a sustainable and eco-friendly hospitality experience.
The hotel is home to the Osteria Mozza restaurant, headed up by Chef Nancy Silverton, and all-day dining venue Estate, as well as various other F&B outlets. It also incorporates more than 25,000 sq ft of event facilities, including 16 multipurpose spaces and two ballrooms, one of which can accommodate up to 900 guests at a time.
“With its strategic location, stylish design, diverse array of culinary concepts and bespoke events capabilities, Hilton Singapore Orchard will be a beacon for the brand,” said Alexandra Jaritz, senior vice president, brand management, Asia Pacific, Hilton. “We look forward to delivering exceptional experiences complemented by Hilton’s signature hospitality.”
