Hilton plans first internationally-branded hotel in Morocco’s Ben Guerir

Hilton Worldwide is to debut DoubleTree by Hilton and the entry of global hospitality brands in the city of Ben Guerir, Morocco.

The signing of DoubleTree by Hilton Ben Guerir, Morocco will see the upscale property complete in Q2 2023.

Strategic location

The hotel is owned by Sociéte Hôtelière de Ben Guerir, an affiliate of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) and will be strategically located in the Mohammed VI Green City district of Ben Guerir, which is within Rhamna Province in central Morocco, in the Marrakesh-Safi region.

The property will feature 213 guestrooms including studios and one-bedroom apartments. In addition, it will provide guests with food and beverage offerings including a lobby and pool bar. Amenities include an outdoor pool, state-of-the-art gym and recreational facilities. For meetings and events, the hotel will offer six meeting rooms and a boardroom.

Standard setting

Hilton’s vice president, development, Middle East and Africa, Carlos Khneisser, said: “Hilton has pioneered hospitality in Africa for over 60 years and we are proud of the growth we are driving in Morocco. The signing of the agreement with Mohammed VI Polytechnic University marks the milestone introduction of DoubleTree by Hilton to the city of Ben Guerir. Upscale drive

In Africa, DoubleTree by Hilton Ben Guerir is aimed at complementing the region’s development plan and drive the expansion of Hilton’s upscale segment. In Morocco, Hilton currently operates five hotels – Hilton Tanger City Center Hotel & Residences, Hilton Tanger Al Houara Resort & Spa, Hilton Garden Inn Tanger City Centre, Hilton Garden Inn Casablanca Sud and the recently-opened Hilton Taghazout Bay Beach Resort & Spa.

Hilton has six hotels under development in locations across the country, with Conrad Rabat Arzana expected to open in the coming months, while the DoubleTree by Hilton brand has another site underway, the 228-key DoubleTree by Hilton Marina Agadir Hotel & Residences, which is due to open in Q3 2023.
