Hilton Worldwide has confirmed plans to rapidly increase its presence in Türkiye, with 11 new hotels planned across the country.

Hilton’s total Turkish development pipeline of 34 hotels now includes properties under 10 of its brands, four of which will be brand firsts in Türkiye.

Istanbul pull

One of the latest pipeline additions is Hilton Istanbul Airport, following a management agreement with TAYA Gayrimenkul Yatırım İşletmeleri Anonim Şirketi. Due to complete in summer 2025, this will be the brand’s first hotel in iGA Istanbul Airport, opening directly across from the airport terminal as part of Istanbul’s Airport City Masterplan.

With 491 guestrooms and suites, the hotel will feature elevated food and beverage options at the onsite restaurant, lobby bar, and café on the terrace. Additional amenities include an executive lounge, indoor pool, spa and fitness facilities. For meetings and events, there will be 770 sq m of meeting room space, including a 45 sq m boardroom.

Old town venue

Another project in Türkiye’s largest city is Les Temps Istanbul Karakoy, Curio Collection by Hilton.

Following a franchise agreement with Kocak Gold Kuyumculuk Dis Ticaret AS, the hotel is expected to open in early 2025 in a historic building in the Galata quarter, now known as Karakoy.

With 93 guestrooms featuring distinctive architecture and design, an all-day dining restaurant and lobby bar and a fitness centre, the hotel will also boast a rooftop bar with sweeping views over the old town of Istanbul.

European and Asian gateway

Due to open in summer 2024, DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Suites Istanbul Altunizade follows a management agreement with CCN Holding. The newly-developed property will be located less than one kilometre from the First Bridge, connecting the two sides of the city, and therefore will be a convenient location for guests hoping to explore the European and Asian sides of Istanbul.

The hotel will boast 240 guestrooms, comprising studios and one-bedroom suites, as well as an all-day dining restaurant and lobby bar featuring diverse culinary experiences for guests. Amenities include an indoor pool, spa and fitness facilities and a 95 sq m aerobic studio. More than 430 sq m of meetings and events space, including an expansive 150 sq m multi-function room, will be able to host large conventions to intimate social events.

This announcement joins other recently-signed Turkish properties for the brand: DoubleTree by Hilton Trabzon Yomra Suites, a 99-guestroom hotel due to open in summer 2024 and DoubleTree by Hilton Bursa Nilufer, a 145-guestroom hotel anticipated to open in 2026.

Brand debut

Tapestry Collection by Hilton will make its debut in Türkiye with a hotel opening in spring 2025. Ritus Hotel Istanbul Sultanahmet, Tapestry Collection by Hilton will feature 51 guestrooms, an all-day dining restaurant and lobby bar with elevated culinary offerings, and a fitness centre.

The hotel’s unique story and vibrant personality will come to life by converting two smaller adjacent hotels across from Sultanahmet Square into one larger hotel, preserving the façade and ornate window designs of the current building while renovating to contrast dark wood floors with bright interiors.

Hampton growth

Hampton by Hilton’s rapidly expanding portfolio in Türkiye is set to welcome five new additions: Hampton by Hilton Antalya Airport, Hampton by Hilton Ankara Airport, Hampton by Hilton Adana Bati, Hampton by Hilton Istanbul Sisli and Hampton by Hilton Merter. All properties are expected to be open before the end of 2026, with Hampton by Hilton Antalya Airport and Hampton by Hilton Merter currently scheduled to open their doors in 2024 and Hampton Istanbul Sisli due to open early 2025.

Each hotel will feature thoughtfully-designed accommodations and amenities with the brand’s signature service, including fitness facilities, free hot breakfast and a dynamic open-concept lobby.

Dynamic market

Hilton has more than 100 hotels trading and under development in Türkiye and is one of the company’s largest operating markets globally.

Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Hilton, commented: “Türkiye is an incredibly dynamic market, with huge opportunity for growth. Our latest agreements, including an exceptional new Hilton Hotels & Resorts property at Istanbul Airport – are testament to the considerable demand for our brands across the country. Hilton has a proud legacy in Türkiye and we’re excited to be working with valued partners on the next phase of growth, which will help serve an even greater range of traveller needs.”
