Hilton Garden Inn works to grow its footprint in Africa [Infographic]
Hilton Garden Inn, is celebrating strong recent growth in Africa with nearly 2,400 rooms still in the pipeline
The award-winning midscale hotel brand has seen much growth on the continent, bringing Hilton’s world-renowned hospitality to several African countries.
Hilton’s famed midscale hotel brand—Hilton Garden Inn—is celebrating strong recent growth in Africa, including the debuts of four new properties. 14 more hotels with nearly 2,400 rooms are still in the pipeline. This marks a rapid pace of growth for the brand which only opened its first location on the continent in 2016.
Perhaps most impressively, many of these properties mark first-in-country openings for Hilton Garden Inn, as well as for Hilton as a whole, in Botswana, Zambia, and Uganda.
Positioned for success
Speaking from Africa’s Travel Indaba, John Greenleaf, global head, Hilton Garden Inn, was very optimistic about the brand’s future on the continent.
“We have positioned Hilton Garden Inn for success in Africa with a prototype developed specifically for the region,” Greenleaf said. “This prototype has been curated to meet the expectations of both travellers and owners throughout Africa, while maintaining the brand’s signature light, bright and airy design as well as the consistent, core guest offerings and amenities the brand is recognized for around the world.”
To date, Hilton Garden Inn manages four properties and nearly 800 rooms in Africa, including:
- Morocco: Hilton Garden Inn Tanger City Center (since March 2016) – Hilton Garden Inn’s first property in Africa, this hotel is close to the beach and Tanger City Mall. Rooms offer stunning views of both the city and the Mediterranean Sea.
- Kenya: Hilton Garden Inn Nairobi Airport (since February 2018) – Hilton Garden Inn’s first property in Kenya is a welcoming oasis close to Nairobi’s international airport.
- Zambia: Hilton Garden Inn Lusaka Society Business Park (since August 2018) – Zambia’s first Hilton hotel, this property is in the heart of Lusaka City, making it ideal for business travellers.
- Botswana: Hilton Garden Inn Gaborone (since February 2019) – Hilton’s first hotel in the country, this Garden Inn is in Gaborone’s new Central Business District.
The Hilton Garden Inn tradition
All new Hilton Garden Inns are built in the brand’s tradition, featuring guest rooms which are great for both work and comfort. At Hilton Garden Inn, guests can unwind in a relaxing social setting and enjoy delicious cocktails, light bites or dinner. The Shop, a 24-hour, grab-and-go retail space, offers an upscale mix of healthy fresh foods, drinks and a self-serve specialty coffee bar.
