Hilton Worldwide has announced the signing of Hilton Garden Inn Busselton, which will offer expansive views across Geographe Bay and the longest timber pier jetty in the southern hemisphere.

The 112-room newbuild in Busselton, Western Australia, is expected to open in 2022. We take a closer look at what’s being planned.

Hilton Garden Inn expands in Australia

Hilton will manage the property in partnership with Pacifica Ausglobal Busselton Pty. Upon completion, it’ll become only the fourth Hilton Garden Inn in the whole of Australasia.

“We are delighted to partner with Pacifica Ausglobal Busselton Pty to bring our award-winning focused-service brand Hilton Garden Inn to Busselton, Western Australia,” said Guy Phillips, senior vice president of development for Hilton in Asia and Australasia. “We are deeply committed to the West Australian market and when open, Hilton Garden Inn Busselton will mark our fifth hotel in the state. This signing highlights our strategy of positioning the right brands in the right locations, at the right time.”

In Western Australia, the hotel joins Parmelia Hilton Perth and DoubleTree by Hilton Perth Northbridge, along with the planned DoubleTree by Hilton Perth Waterfront and Hilton Garden Inn Albany.

A growing tourism hub

The hotel will sit at the heart of Busselton’s 38-hectare commercial and cultural foreshore precinct. This prominent location will benefit from the city’s strategic investment in the area as a new entertainment, arts and culture hub, as well as the expected increase in domestic and international airport traffic due to the upgrades currently underway at Busselton Margaret River Airport.

“The expansion of tourism infrastructure in Busselton will pave the way for savvy new travellers to the city to experience Hilton Garden Inn’s renowned hospitality,” said Jenny Milos, vice president, focused service and all suites brand management for Hilton in Asia Pacific. “We look forward to bringing Hilton Garden Inn’s brand of hospitality to the city of Busselton.”

Busselton is located 220 kilometres to the south of Perth. This city is the gateway to the celebrated Margaret River wine region and a popular tourist destination in its own right. Busselton is also home to one of the state’s most popular attractions, the Busselton Jetty, which is the longest timber pier jetty in the southern hemisphere.

Hilton Garden Inn Busselton will include an all-day dining restaurant and bar serving small plates, craft beers and cocktails, as well as 242 sq m of meeting space and onsite parking.

“This is an important milestone in our strategic partnership with Hilton to deliver quality hotels to regional Western Australia,” said John Zendler, director of Pacifica Ausglobal Busselton Pty. “We enjoy a strong relationship with Hilton and look forward to delivering this project together.”

The newbuild will join 27 operating and 14 pipeline Hilton properties throughout Australasia.
