A new signing in Paris means Hilton will shortly launch its luxury LXR brand in France

Hilton has revealed it will shortly launch its luxury LXR collection brand in Paris, France. A new signing, Sax Paris, will open in the coming weeks.

The hotel will be owned and operated by Compagnie de Phalsbourg, and is in the seventh arrondissement of the French capital, close to the Eiffel Tower and many of the city’s finest museums. The 118 room luxury property will feature a fabulous rooftop terrace for those wanting to drink in views of the city skyline.

A new collection brand coming to France

“We’re thrilled to be bringing the LXR Hotels & Resorts brand to France,” said David Heijligers, Hilton’s director for development in France and Benelux. “Each LXR property is carefully hand-picked to ensure that it offers its own enchanting pedigree, story and character that is steeped in the originality of its locale, and Sax Paris is no exception with its unique architectural design and beautiful surroundings.”

The LXR brand is a collection of independent hotels, curated by Hilton, which the group says “celebrate the timeless pursuit of personal adventure”. The collection brand was launched by Hilton in 2018. Currently, there are 15 LXR hotels open, with a further 11 signed into the development pipeline.

Compagnie de Phalsbourg is an established developer and hotel operator. Previous projects in Paris included the development of the first Soho House in Paris, while the company is also involved in development of the new 1 Hotel Paris, for Starwood Hotels.

Elsewhere in Europe, the LXR brand is shortly to expand with its first hotel in Italy. The Grand Hotel Gardone Lake Garda is being transformed from its four star past into a full luxury hotel, and will reopen in 2026. The lakefront property, owned by the Lithuanian group Apex Alliance and Romanian Paval Holding, will feature 160 rooms, two restaurants and a spa with indoor and outdoor pools. It is sure to become a magnet for atmospheric gatherings, as its ballroom will open onto a large terrace overlooking Lake Garda.

Across Asia, LXR projects in the pipeline include LXR Miyajimaguchi in Hatsukaichi, Japan. Chinese projects include LXR Hotel Hangzhou and LXR Hotel Xi’an, with the latter expected to open in 2027.

Plans for global growth

In the Middle East, Al Nawras Island in Abu Dhabi will see an LXR resort, while Saudi Arabia’s Diriyah Gate development will also feature an LXR hotel. Looking further ahead, the Al-Ahsa Agritourism Resort in Saudi Arabia is expecting to join the collection.

Elsewhere in the French market, Hilton is making good progress growing its limited service brands. Premium economy brand Spark has three projects under way, all conversions in one city: Spark by Hilton Lyon Ouest, Spark by Hilton Lyon Park Saone and Spark by Hilton Lyon Eurexpo. The Hampton by Hilton brand is also expanding, with airport hotels at Paris Orly and at Lyon airport.
