The hospitality group is continuing its European expansion with the addition of these newly announced properties.

The group’s Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton by Hilton brands have more than 100 openings planned for Europe over the next five years.

Continued brand growth

Hilton’s six newly announced hotels are to open under the group’s focused service brands across Germany, Italy, the UK and Poland. These openings in Berlin, Potsdam, Venice, Bologna, Plymouth and Szczecin will join over 60 Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton by Hilton operating properties in Europe.

Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, EMEA, Hilton said: “Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton by Hilton are two of Hilton’s fastest growing brands, with more than half of our European development pipeline by hotel under these two brands.”

“Hilton has established one of the most successful and sought after franchise support models in European hospitality, with over 350 hotels now operating with our established partners and a further 170 new hotels in our pipeline. Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton by Hilton are popular with guests, and have a proven track record in a range of locations, from regional towns to major capitals, airports to sporting stadiums, making them an attractive opportunity for investors.”

“Now operating in 23 European countries and with plans to open in seven new markets in the next five years, value-conscious guests will be able to experience Hilton’s industry-leading hospitality in a growing number of places.”

Newly announced properties

Over the past year, the group has debuted 23 new European properties across the two brands. Properties entering into new markets have included Hilton Garden Inn Snowdonia in Wales and Hampton by Hilton Riga Airport in Latvia. Upcoming destination debuts now include Szczecin, Bologna, Potsdam and Plymouth.

Late 2023 will see the opening of Hilton Garden Inn Plymouth in the UK. This 150-key property will be located close to historic sites including the Royal Citadel and home to highlights including a skybar. Prior to the group’s Plymouth debut, Spring 2023 will mark the opening of Hilton Garden Inn Bologna North in Italy housing 130 guest rooms along with meeting space, a gym and parking.

Hampton by Hilton Venice Tronchetto is opening in spring 2024 on the Venetian island of Tronchetto with 324 guest rooms, a breakfast zone and bar, two meeting rooms, a fitness centre and dedicated Work Zone. Opening November 2024, Hampton by Hilton Berlin Airport West will offer 196 guest rooms, a breakfast area and bar, a gym and 150 parking spaces within easy reach of the airport and city centre.

Hampton by Hilton Potsdam is making its debut in Germany in June 2024 with 163 guest rooms, a breakfast area and bar, meeting room and gym, all close to the working film studio and theme park, Filmpark Babelsberg. Finally, Hampton by Hilton Szczecin East is opening in Poland in January 2024 with 103 guest rooms, a business hub, fitness centre and two meeting rooms in a location at the heart of the commercial district of Szczecin.
