Hilton Worldwide has signed its second property in the city of Marsa Alam, Egypt.

In partnership with Boulevard for Tourism Development, Hilton Marsa Wazar Red Sea Resort & Spa will be operated under the Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand.

Full facilities

The resort will provide a range of accommodation options across 282 units – from standard guestrooms and beachfront suites to stand-alone villas with private pools.

Featuring a variety of facilities and amenities, the property will offer two main outdoor pools and an indoor spa pool, a spa spanning over 1,000 sq m, and a gym. Food and beverage options will include four bars located in the lobby and poolside as well as a specialty restaurant and an all-day dining venue.

Key market

Carlos Khneisser, vice president, development, Middle East and Africa at Hilton, said: “Egypt is one of Hilton’s key markets across the region where we’re keen to expand our presence and provide new and exciting hospitality offerings to both domestic and international guests. Across Egypt, we currently have 14 properties in operation, with another 11 in the pipeline.

“The Red Sea shoreline enjoys great potential when it comes to resort and diving tourism, with untapped areas that are considered hidden gems. Entering Marsa Wazar is a great opportunity for us to offer our world-class services to avid travellers looking for a secluded, beach-side escape or to explore the wonders of the underwater world.”

Great fit

Maged Shafik, founder and MD, Boulevard for Tourism Development, added: “We are proud to be partnering with Hilton in developing this new property, which will enhance the hospitality offering in the city of Marsa Alam.  Hilton Hotels & Resorts is a renowned brand which is a great fit for the area and we look forward to welcoming our first guests.”

Hilton Marsa Wazar Red Sea Resort & Spa joins 14 Hilton properties currently operating in Egypt under the Hilton Hotels & Resorts and Conrad Hotels & Resorts brands, as well as 11 properties in the pipeline. The upcoming sites include the 247-key Waldorf Astoria Cairo, which will result from a rebranding of Towers Luxury Hotel by the end of this quarter; Hilton Garden Inn Damietta Beach, a 120-room property planned on the country’s north coast; and DoubleTree by Hilton Ain Al Sokhna, a 200-key hotel appearing on the shores of the Red Sea in Q2 2024.
