Famous Lake Tahoe property is overhauling its guest rooms and adding tantalising new dining venue for guests.

Fans of the iconic Harveys Lake Tahoe Hotel and Casino will be delighted to know that the owners of the property are funnelling $41 million into the restoration and redecoration of the rooms in the Lake Tower.

We take a look inside the redesign.

Harveys Lake Tahoe gets a makeover

The iconic lakeside casino and hotel, Harveys Lake Tahoe, is getting a makeover. Its owners began a huge programme of investment into various areas of the famed resort in 2019, and as part of this significant injection of capital, the guest rooms are due to be overhauled.

A new room redesign of the renowned Lake Tower section of the resort is due to be unveiled during the summer of 2020. As well as the guest rooms, Harveys Lake Tahoe is also set to add an attractive new dining offering in the form of a Gordon Ramsey-branded restaurant.

Brad Belhouse, regional president for Caesars Entertainment in Northern Nevada, spoke of the overhaul and investment, saying, “Harveys Lake Tahoe is an iconic resort on the South Shore and continues to offer enhanced amenities for guests to enjoy. With the newly redesigned guest rooms, the completion of the balcony suites and the upcoming opening of Gordon Ramsay HELL’S KITCHEN Lake Tahoe in the centre of the casino, Caesars Entertainment is committed to elevating guest experiences at our resorts and advancing the Lake Tahoe tourism economy.”

Devil in the details

One look at the render that has been released of the guest rooms and it’s easy to see how much careful thought and consideration has been put into the redesign of the sleeping areas.

Las Vegas design firm DEZMOTIF Studios created the guest rooms’ new interiors and said they were inspired by the natural surroundings and seasonality of Lake Tahoe and wanted to reflect this in the design by creating a comfortable, relaxing and serene environment.

The rooms have been reorganised to feel more spacious and a natural palette of materials such as timber and linen and neutral colours like beige and oat give the spaces a contemporary feel. This is contrasted with a thick, indulgent carpet that is a nod to the blue waters of the lake beyond.

F&B offerings and options

One of the most talked-about elements of the redevelopment of Harveys Lake Tahoe is the inclusion of a new Gordon Ramsay restaurant, Gordon Ramsay HELL’S KITCHEN Lake Tahoe.

Its opening has been creating quite a buzz already, with a reported 12,000 seats already reserved. The restaurant will be close to the casino floor, so diners can revel in their winnings at the celebrity chef’s eatery, hyped from several seasons running on the Fox TV network. Guests will be able to sample food drawn directly from the TV series, making them part of the action.
