Hard Rock International, Extell Development Company and AECOM Tishman have held a topping-out ceremony to celebrate their progress in building Hard Rock Hotel New York, complete with a socially distant luncheon and cake-cutting.
Hard Rock International is on track to open a showstopping new luxury hotel in the heart of Manhattan. We find out more about the development of Hard Rock Hotel New York.
A cause for celebration
To commemorate the completion of the fundamental framework atop the 35th floor terrace of the property, representatives from all three companies raised a US flag high above Times Square. The construction and development teams were also invited to take part in a socially distant luncheon and cake-cutting ceremony to thank the key figures involved in the project so far.
“While not the typical topping-out ceremony, we wanted to express our gratitude for the talent and expertise of our partners with this ceremony during these challenging times,” said Jim Allen, chairman of Hard Rock International. “We have no doubt Hard Rock Hotel New York will be a world-class destination in the heart of New York City.”
