Hampton by Hilton maintains pipeline pace

Hilton Worldwide’s upper midscale brand, Hampton by Hilton, has preserved its pipeline pace, with at least 100 sites in the offing, the same as TOPHOTELNEWS calculated this time last year.

According to our database, 14,526 keys are headed out into the market, 2% down on our previous annual analysis, which found 14,841 rooms in development.

Boosting coverage

The new tonne will join the four star strand’s existing over 2,700 locations in 31 countries across four continents.

North America is far and away the most popular continent for upcoming sites, with 43 additions scheduled. European properties will total 30 new hotels, with Asia in third place on 20.

American advancement

The vast majority of development is in the brand’s home nation of the USA, with at least 37 projects in the pipeline. The runner-up in the country stakes is China, with 15 sites, while UK makes the last spot on the podium with 11 additions.

In terms of individual cities, just a couple of major municipalities are scheduled to welcome more than a single hotel, with London, UK on three and US powerhouse New York on two.

Rapid rate

Development pace is due to be rapid over the next couple of years, with 34 deliveries scheduled for 2023 and another 24 in the following year. Just six are slated for 2025, while another couple are due to open by the end of this year.

The remaining 34 hotels are either yet to be designated an end date or the completion will be beyond 2025.

Special sites

Among the new hotels to look out for is Jamaica Hampton Inn & Suites New York, arriving in Q3 2023. The eastern part of the American city’s new Jamaica Building will be designated as a 242-key Hampton, comprising suites, king rooms, double queen rooms and handicap suites. The rooms will spread across floors three to 19, while the first floor will house the hotel lobby, a bar and restaurant, fitness centre and meeting space. The second floor will include an outdoor terrace.

Another North American addition will be Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Santa Fe in Mexico. The 120-room newbuild will form part of the Field of Golf Santa Fe development in the town of Xochitepec. signature features will include the ‘Clean and Fresh’ Hampton bed in all guestrooms and a lobby with a zoned environment for working, mingling or relaxing. Guests will also have access to meeting space, an outdoor swimming pool and a fitness centre.
