The new Holiday Inn property in Mannheim is set to showcase IHG’s new technology and design standards.

The German Gorgeous Smiling Hotels GmbH will soon celebrate the opening of its first Holiday Inn Hotel in Mannheim.

We find out more about this modern property.

Growing a successful partnership

An established franchise partner to InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), the Gorgeous Smiling Hotels GmbH (GSH) has now announced a deal between its subsidiary GS Star GmbH and the hotel giant.

This partnership will result in the opening of a Holiday Inn hotel in Mannheim, Germany. Set in the “Glückstein-Quartier”, one of the most important urban development projects in Mannheim, the hotel will be directly next to the city’s main train station.

Previous franchise agreements between IHG and GSH include several Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express properties across Germany.

Holger Behrens, Managing Director of GS Star GmbH had this to say: “We are very pleased that we were able to develop our fifth hotel together with IHG and are in line with the latest standards for design and technology. It’s a great property which we are very proud of.”

Modernising Holiday Inn

Following new IHG design, interior and technology standards, GS Star GmbH will open and run one of the world’s most modern 4-star Holiday Inn hotels from Q3 2020.

All 150 guest rooms, as well as its conference facilities, will be decked out with the latest in tech, leaving nothing to be desired among today’s modern travellers. Innovative, smart technologies are used at every turn to provide added comfort, flexibility and functionality.

The open, colourful lobby offers great opportunities for work and meetings. In the evening guests can leave everyday life behind at the cocktail bar or enjoy dinner at the hotel restaurant and be entertained by the live cooking display.

A great location

Whether for business guests or private travellers, the family-friendly hotel is a comfortable starting point for exploring the city thanks to its ideal location.

In just five minutes, guests can reach Mannheim Central Station, the city centre, the financial district and the University of Mannheim. Private travellers can enjoy a visit to the Luisenpark Mannheim or the Chinese tea house.

The new hotel adds a touch of modernity to the city’s hotel market and hopes are high that it will continue to drive Mannheim’s internationalization by attracting guests from around the world.

IHG operates hotels in three different ways – as a franchisor, as a manager and on an owned and leased basis.
