Radisson maintains rapid growth in the Middle East with the launch of its first branded property in Turkey and two new hotels in the pipeline in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
Radisson Hotel Group, a major global hospitality company, is expanding its footprint in the Middle East.
The group has recently made two notable moves. The first is entering Bursa with Turkey’s first ever Radisson-branded hotel. The second is signing a pair of new properties in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
This signals an increased emphasis on the growing tourism market in the region on the part of the Radisson Hotel Group.
Expanding in the Turkish market
Radisson announced the signing of its first branded hotel in Turkey last month. It is to be in Bursa and is scheduled to open in Q4 2020. The Radisson Hotel Bursa will be operated by Radisson Hospitality AB under an International Franchise Agreement.
The partnership with the Turkey-based real estate and construction company IHY Gayrimenkul İnşaat Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. increases the Radisson Hotel Group’s portfolio in Turkey to 25 hotels and more than 4,600 rooms in operation and under development.
The Radisson Hotel Bursa will feature 163 guest rooms and suites, all with Radisson’s unique brand features. The hotel will also offer an all-day dining venue – as well as a specialty restaurant, a lobby lounge bar and a pool bar & grill.
Spread over 500 sqm, the hotel’s meeting space will include two large conference halls, three meeting rooms, two boardrooms and a business centre. The leisure facilities will include a spa, a gym and a swimming pool.
The Radisson Hotel Bursa will be in Bursa’s Nilufer district and will have easy access to the Bursa Organized Industrial Zone, as well as the city’s thermal baths district and UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Ismail Hakkı Yılmaz, Chairman, IHY Gayrimenkul İnşaat Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., commented on the agreement: “It’s an honour for us to partner with one of the world’s leading hospitality chains, Radisson Hotel Group. Bringing this leading hospitality brand to a city like Bursa, with its rich history mixed with tourism and commerce sectors that are still rapidly developing, is very important to us.”
