Hyatt has ambitious growth plans for the coming years and shows and aims to further grow it portfolio in key markets around the world.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation is known around the world for its wide offering of quality hotels in excellent locations.

In the coming years, the American group plans on adding another 305 properties with 64,151 rooms to its already sizeable portfolio.

We look at figures from the TOPHOTELPROJECTS database to find out when and where these new hotels will open.

2020 – a year of growth for Hyatt

The end of 2019 will be busy for Hyatt which is planning to launch another 32 properties before the new year.

2020 will mark the company’s biggest growth spurt with 112 new hotels slated to open and bring 22,298 new rooms.

78 launches are confirmed for 2021 and 37 are already on the books for 2022. Even for 2023 and beyond things are looking quite rosy with 46 openings already lined up.

Hyatt expands in two key markets

The first thing we notice when looking at Hyatt’s 305-hotel pipeline is that most properties will launch in Asia Pacific and North America. These two regions will get 125 and 121 new hotels respectively.

Europe follows in a distant third place with 28 new hotels. The Middle East will see 17 new properties and South America and Africa will get 7 each.

Knowing that APAC and North America are the fastest growing regions, it comes as no surprise that the United States with 89 projects and 16,300 rooms and China with 73 new hotels and 17,983 rooms head up the list of the fastest-growing countries.

Canada comes next with 18 launches, just before India with a pipeline of 15 properties and Saudi Arabia with 7.

Key brands in the Hyatt portfolio

With 69 new hotels and 11,569 rooms, the budget brand Hyatt Place will be the group’s fastest-growing brand in the coming years.

Hyatt Regency Hotels takes second place with 58 properties in the pipeline and Hyatt House closes out the top three with 41 openings.

Hyatt Centric will see 28 new hotels open their doors while the luxury resort brand Alila Hotels & Resorts will launch in 21 new locations.

An iconic new property for the Regency brand

Slated to welcome guests from 2023, the 1,000-key Hyatt Regency Wuchuan Dinglong Bay in the city of Zhanjiang targets both corporate and leisure guests.

The property’s large conference facilities with their cutting-edge technology are ideal for large-scale meetings and the property offers delegates the ideal place to stay.

Leisure travellers will appreciate the nearby Dinglong Bay theme park which is a popular weekend and holiday destination.

Noteworthy Hyatt hotels launching worldwide

The Hyatt Regency Oregon Convention Centre slated to open in late 2019 will add a new state-of-the-art convention hotel to downtown Portland, OR. With 600 keys and close to 3,000 sqm (32,000 sqft) of ballroom and meeting room space, this property is ideal for large, multi-day events.

Another Hyatt Regency, the Hyatt Regency Nha Trang, is opening in the Vietnamese coastal town. Before this year’s calendar runs out, the 434-room property will open its doors and welcome guests into a relaxing haven by the sea. Corporate guests will also enjoy their stay here thanks to prime meeting facilities and top amenities.

Finally, the Grand Hyatt Grand Cayman Hotel and Residences will add another stunning property to the group’s portfolio by early 2021. Generous meeting and events spaces make this a great hotel for destination conferences while leisure amenities such as a luxurious spa and a variety of dining venues will attract vacationers.
