A first look at the Hyatt House Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport, which will open in 2020.
Hyatt’s portfolio is set to grow by 310 new hotels with over 63,000 new rooms in just a few short years.
With over 700 hotels in 56 countries, Hyatt is one of the largest luxury and mid-range hotel groups today.
In the future, the American group’s portfolio is set to keep growing rapidly.
We take a look at their plans in detail.
Constant growth worldwide
Overall, Hyatt plans to build 310 new hotels with a total of 63,434 rooms in the next few years.
Most of Hyatt’s growth will happen in Asia-Pacific with 127 new projects with 28,430 rooms. Of these, 73 will open in China, 15 in India, 7 in Australia, 6 in Japan and 5 in Indonesia.
North America is also a robust market with a pipeline of 123 hotels and 22,974 rooms. Hyatt plans to launch 91 of the new properties in its home market, the US while 18 will open their doors in Canada. With 7 new hotels, Los Angeles ranks number 1 among Hyatt’s top cities and Toronto comes in 3rd place with 5 openings.
In Europe, the brand will expand its presence with 29 new hotels and 5,675 rooms, while 17 hotels are to be opened in the Middle East. Africa and South America will each get 7 new Hyatt hotels.
185 of the planned hotels are to receive 4 stars, 125 will belong to the 5-star category.
Timing and construction phases for Hyatt’s pipeline
In 2019 Hyatt wants to open 45 new hotels with 10,192 rooms. 115 projects are already scheduled for next year and will bring a total of 22,743 new rooms.
2021 looks a little quieter with only 71 openings. For 2022, only 37 projects are in the pipeline.
25 hotels are already in the pre-opening phase and are currently receiving the finishing touch. 143 projects are under construction while 107 are in an active planning phase and 29 are in the pre-planning phase.
Hyatt in the DACH region
6 of the 29 hotels planned for Europe are earmarked for the DACH region. Switzerland and Germany will each receive three new hotels.
The Alila lifestyle brand plans to open the Alila Hotel and Golf Resort La Gruyère in 2023. Its idyllic location, proximity to a world-class golf course and spacious spa make this new property a luxurious retreat.
In Germany, Frankfurt am Main gets two new hotels. The Hyatt House Frankfurt City Goetheplatz will open in the city centre in Q1 2023, while the Hyatt House Frankfurt Eschborn will welcome guests to one of Frankfurt’s most popular business districts by the end of this year.
