Hilton Worldwide has expanded its presence in China with the launch of the stunning Waldorf Astoria Xiamen.

A major boost for Xiamen’s hospitality scene

This opening represents the fourth Waldorf Astoria property in Greater China and only the sixth in the entire APAC region. It’s located just 9 km from Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport within the heart of the Siming District.

Alan Watts, president of Asia Pacific at Hilton, said: “As the sixth Waldorf Astoria hotel to open in Asia Pacific, Waldorf Astoria Xiamen is part of the growing momentum of Hilton’s luxury estate in the region. This launch follows closely on the back of our recent signing of the first Waldorf Astoria hotel in Japan, which will open in Tokyo in 2026.

“As we look to open 17 more hotels across our three luxury brands in our regional pipeline over the coming years, Waldorf Astoria Xiamen will be a shining example of how our team pulled out all the stops to a truly remarkable hotel during one of the most challenging moments in history. We have every confidence Waldorf Astoria Xiamen will be a destination that is highly sought-after and on top-of-mind for travellers within and beyond China.”

Embracing the culture of the sea

Waldorf Astoria Xiamen is an exciting new offering that brings together contemporary culture with the age-old traditions of this renowned port city. Indeed, the city’s rich history is channelled in the hotel’s design and execution, which is echoed in a decadent garden mansion merging Nanyang traditions with European architecture. Guests can enjoy the garden’s peace and tranquility before checking out one of the hotel’s buzzing F&B outlets, ranging from a sophisticated all-day dining venue to a classic Fujian restaurant.

Each of the hotel’s 254 well-appointed guest rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows, offering expansive views out over the city. Rest, relaxation and revitalisation are prioritised at the Waldorf Astoria Spa, meanwhile, which offers treatments such as the Aroma Hydro Thermal Therapy Experience; there’s also a 24-hour fitness centre and gym.

“The opening of Waldorf Astoria Xiamen is a significant step forward for the storied Waldorf Astoria brand as we continue to elevate the level of luxury hospitality all over the world,” said Dino Michael, global category head of luxury brands for Hilton. “We are thrilled to welcome this property to our family of 32 iconic Waldorf Astoria hotels, including Asia’s own Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi, Waldorf Astoria Bangkok and Waldorf Astoria Beijing here in China, all of which provide guests with our legendary True Waldorf Service experienced through the lens of the world’s most sought-after destinations.”
