The Vietnam-based hotel group, Fusion, is set to open new hotels in Hanoi and Danang while also launching an exciting new brand in Binh Duong.

These forthcoming openings signal the expansion plans of a group that began in 2008 with a single property in Vietnam. Fusion currently has 16 hotels in Vietnam and Thailand.

Southeast Asia expansion

In the next 12 months, Fusion will have added these three new hotels across Vietnam to its growing portfolio: Fusion Resort & Villas Danang, Fusion Suites Hanoi and HIIVE Binh Duong, which also marks a brand debut.

“We are encouraged by the signs of positive recovery in travel as witnessed in our existing portfolio over the past six months or so,” said Christopher Hur, President of Lodgis Hospitality Holdings Pte. Ltd.(“Lodgis”), the parent company of Fusion. “This year, we remain sanguine on the further robust pick up in regional travel and tourism. As corporate and leisure travellers take to the skies more frequently, we are well-positioned to meet their needs with our diverse, distinct and growing portfolio.”

Peter Meyer, CEO of Lodgis and Fusion Hotel Group, commented: “Our expansion is part of our group’s long-term goal of regionally establishing our unique brands. With our roots and established Vietnam business, we will grow our presence in the country off the back of its macroeconomic growth and favourable demographics. Beyond Vietnam, we are targeting to grow our Thailand platform as well as near-term expansion in Southeast Asia.”

Three new hotel debuts

HIIVE Binh Duong, Vietnam will be the first of these three properties to open and this forthcoming debut will signify the launch of the HIIVE brand aimed at business travellers. This 172-key hotel will be located in Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park. Facilities here are to include meeting and co-working space, a golf simulator, 24-hour fitness centre and sports bar.

Danang will then welcome the beachfront Fusion Resort & Villas Danang, Vietnam in autumn of this year. The 242-key property will be home to a beachfront grill, all-day dining restaurant, poolside bar and “breakfast anywhere, anytime” concept, as well as Maia Spa & Wellness Centre. The resort will feature 85 private one- to six-bedroom villas with an open-plan living concept, fully equipped kitchens, private plunge pools and lush tropical gardens.

“In recent years, ‘wellness’ is becoming a central guest priority and at Fusion it is, and always has been, part of who we are since our 2008 founding,” said Meyer.. “We were the first in Vietnam to launch an all-inclusive spa concept and we are dedicated to creating wellness-inspired lodging products geared to our guests’ well-being and health, whether their travel is for pleasure or work.”

Finally, Fusion Suites Ha Noi, Vietnam is to open in early 2024. This 238-key hotel will be a part of a mixed-use development and high-end shopping mall located near attractions like the Presidential Palace. Facilities within this property will include the brand’s signature Fresh restaurant, a spa and Japanese-style onsen.

The hotel’s nature-inspired design will pair an earthy colour palette with wooden decor and soft teal tones. Each room will be designed for extended stays with a kitchenette and in-room laundry facilities. Some rooms will also encompass living and dining areas.
