Featuring a design inspired by Stratford’s strong locomotive heritage, The Gantry London, Curio Collection by Hilton near Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park has now opened its doors.

As well as offering enticing amenities such as an artisan food market, this scheme provides a convenient base for exploring the area’s stadiums, shops and restaurants.

A burgeoning neighbourhood

Launched earlier this month, The Gantry London, Curio Collection by Hilton features 291 guestrooms and rises 18 storeys high. The much-anticipated property is managed by RBH Management.

Saurabh Kukreja, general manager at The Gantry London, Curio Collection by Hilton, said: “I am excited to bring The Gantry to the fast-developing London neighbourhood of Stratford. With a bold design concept and a compelling product offering, all delivered with a contemporary savoir-faire, we will be pushing the boundaries of conventional hospitality and breaking new grounds.”

Stephen Cassidy, senior vice president and managing director, UK & Ireland, Hilton, added: “With almost 60 Curio Collection by Hilton hotels trading or in development across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, we are pleased to open this incredible property as the brand’s sixth London hotel.”

Inspired design and vibrant amenities

Stratford’s locomotive manufacturing history provided the inspiration for the architecture of this building, whose exterior frame incorporates slim vertical fins that call to mind the design of railway lines. Other key influences include New York City’s famous Flatiron building and industrial Victorian East London, which can be seen inside through the contrast of raw hard materials and soft furnishings.

The hotel’s guestrooms and suites, moreover, come with copper and dark metal furnishings, natural wood and velvet touches, and floor-to-ceiling windows.

Main restaurant Union Social spans the property’s first floor, with a cocktail bar and open kitchen flanking the dining space. And sparkling bar Coupe at Union Social occupies an illuminated counter bar, accompanied by banquette seating and an outdoor terrace.

January 2022 will see the launch of the ground floor’s The Stratford Grocer & Co’s food market, complete with deli and coffeeshop, and spring 2022 will mark the launch of East London’s highest rooftop bar and restaurant on the 18th floor.

From the hotel, guests have easy access to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Westfield Stratford City, Stratford International and the rest of London.
