France welcomes inaugural Voco hotel

Voco Paris Montparnasse, the first of four planned French properties for IHG’s upscale Voco brand, has opened on the Left Bank of the City of Lights.

Voco is expanding its footprint in Europe, with the opening of Voco Paris Montparnasse, a stylish 102-key property. The new hotel boasts convenient links to several transport hubs, including Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports, which are accessible from the Montparnasse station just minutes away.

Voco enters new markets

Voco Paris Montparnasse is the first of four Voco-branded properties set to open across France in the coming years; another will open in Strasbourg before the year is out, while 2021 will see a property in Reims, and one in Burgundy’s Beaune will follow in 2022.

Will Yell, head of Voco EMEAA for IHG, said: “Since we launched Voco two years ago, we’ve seen fantastic growth all around the world and it’s so exciting to open our first hotel in France, with three more Voco hotels in the pipeline for this market. Voco Paris Montparnasse will be a great example of the brand, blending Voco’s unique characteristics with the spirit of the French capital.

“Being part of the Voco family doesn’t mean becoming one of the same. Whether it’s a newly built property or a well-known hotel with plenty of history, we foster and celebrate all the individual spirit and elements that make a hotel successful.”

Voco bids to combine charm and style

The name Voco is derived from the Latin terms ‘to invite’ and ‘call together’, and this is the brand’s ethos – a combination of informality and charm, with a warm welcome in a stylish setting. Fabien Roque from Roque Interieurs was charged with conceptualising the hotel’s design, which responds to the brand’s signature style and identity.

The property gives guests easy access to some of Paris’ most famous sights, including Montparnasse Cemetery and the Cartier Foundation right on its doorstep. Not far away are the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower and the Panthéon, which can be reached by the city’s famous metro.

Voco Paris Montparnasse has a sustainable focus, using recycled materials for the bedding, aerated shower heads and refillable bottles for toiletries. Guests can also look forward to the hassle-free check-in that Voco is known for, as well as its casual yet professional atmosphere, and fully connected guest rooms and common areas.
