Four Seasons reveals plans for luxury island resort in Saudi Arabia

Four Seasons is continuing its expansion across the Middle East with the creation of a new luxury resort on the island of Sindalah in Saudi Arabia’s NEOM development.

On Sindalah, the new Four Seasons resort will be joined by a luxury marina and yacht club, nine-hole golf course and array of dining venues also taking shape on the island.

Future-centric hospitality

Together, Four Seasons and Hotel Development, the NEOM division responsible for building a future-centric hospitality ecosystem, have revealed plans for a new Four Seasons resort on Sindalah Island.

“Four Seasons’ upcoming resort in NEOM will be a one-of-a-kind project, blending the natural wonders of the Red Sea with the future-forward technologies on which this new, exciting destination is being built,” said Bart Carnahan, President, Global Business Development and Portfolio Management, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.

“We are proud to be part of the ambitious vision that our partners at NEOM have for transforming the future of hospitality in the region and look forward to welcoming guests to discover a new part of the Kingdom.”

A luxury island escape

One of several islands being developed as a part of NEOM in the Red Sea, the approximately 840,000-sq-m Sindalah Island will be the setting for a marina, yacht club, nine-hole golf course and 18 pin experiences, a collection of dining concepts and this newly announced resort by Four Seasons. On completion, the island will host a series of cultural and sporting events throughout the year.

The resort itself will have 225 guest rooms and suites with beach-view terraces, 52 one- to four-bedroom villas with beach views and plunge pools, and exclusive Presidential and Royal Villas with their own private swimming pools and gyms, as well as access to private yacht docks.

Architecturally, the resort will be designed by LUCA DINI Design & Architecture. RBTA and LW Design will then design the guest room and public area interiors. Facilities at the property will include four dining venues, several lounges, a fitness centre, multiple pools and a spa home to a hammam and vitality pool. The resort will have an onsite diving centre and cater for water sports like water skiing and kite surfing.

“Sindalah follows NEOM’s vision and purpose of mitigating the impact of unchecked urban development while protecting and regenerating the rich natural capital of the region,” said Chris Newman, Executive Director, Hotel Development at NEOM. “In terms of hospitality, our goal is to shape a new frontier for the industry, and Four Seasons is the perfect partner to work alongside, towards this.”

“While NEOM will have something for every kind of traveller, the Resort on Sindalah will be perfect for those looking to rest, relax and explore in the beautiful setting of the Red Sea, while enjoying the service that Four Seasons has built an incredible global reputation on.”
