Four Seasons Madrid – Spain’s new capital of luxury.
High-end hotel group Four Seasons gears up for the opening of its first hotel in Spain at the end of this year.
Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts is a name long associated with a luxury offering, and now they are bringing their upscale brand of hospitality to the Spanish capital of Madrid.
Slated to open at the end of 2019, the hotel will be in a historic building and will boast a mix of guest rooms and residences.
We find out more.
Four Seasons arrives in Madrid
Spain’s capital is set to benefit from a new luxury hotel, a Four Seasons property in the historic heart of this much-loved European city.
The hotel is in the prominent and iconic Canalejas Centre, which itself lies at the halfway point between the main Plaza Mayor square and the city’s famous Retiro Park.
The Centre houses retail, commercial and entertainment units, and before the year is out, will also be home to Spain’s first Four Seasons hotel.
The Four Seasons Canelejas will accommodate up to 400 guests and offers a choice of 200 guest rooms and suites, as well as 22 luxury private residences.
The residences are for sale, and many of them have already been snapped up, such is the demand for property in Madrid.
Madrid a sure thing when it comes to tourism
Tourism to Europe only continues to increase and this is good news for hotel developers in Spain, as the southern European country remains one of the most popular destinations on the continent.
Four Seasons Madrid’s general manager Christoph Schmidinger says that the hotel “will become an icon of the city that will help position the capital of Spain in the luxury tourism segment.”
Given the hotel’s location and proximity to other desirable attractions, such as the local highlights and the 15,000 square meters of commercial and gastronomic luxury spaces in the Canalejas Centre, it is sure to become a key destination in Madrid’s luxury sector.
The project is a culmination of several years of bringing an ambitious concept to reality – the joining of seven historic buildings within the Canalejas Centre, the oldest part of which dates back to 1887 – which will ensure its place as an enviable property worthy of the Four Seasons and all its history.
