Selina Union Market is now hosting its first guests in Washington, D.C.’s burgeoning Union Market neighbourhood.

The experiential lifestyle hospitality brand catering for millennial and Gen Z travellers now has seven hotels across the U.S. and a global portfolio of 155 open and pipeline properties.

Designed for collaboration

Reflecting its place in the brand portfolio, Selina Union Market provides space for digital nomads and modern travellers to stay, work and play. The brand’s flagship U.S. property, this hotel features all the elements that distinguish the hospitality company.

Collaborative space designed for locals and hotel guests to congregate is decorated for a modern industrial feel. Drawing on the site’s past as a seed factory and antiques shop, the interiors pair an earthy colour scheme with upcycled furnishings

The hotel commissioned artists Stencil Network and Sergio Stuff to create a four-storey mural and the original artworks of Veronica Barker-Barzel and Victory Dance Creative decorate the walls.

The artist Vero Barker will add to cultural programming ranging from wellness classes to comedy shows with screen printing demonstrations and workshops.

A diversity of stay experiences

This new Selina hotel accommodates guests in 106 rooms of mixed accommodation, from shared accommodation and micro rooms to standard rooms and suites, catering for a variety of preferred accommodation styles and budgets.

This accommodation offering is joined by multiple open-floor coworking spaces and private meeting rooms, four rentable artist studios and a cinema room.

Guests can dine at the all-day restaurant, prepare their own food in the common kitchen, make use of the onsite wellness studio and cellar for dance and head up to the expansive rooftop for cocktails with a view.

Local partners adding to the community feel include organic skincare line Skincando and on-demand concierge mobile IV therapy brand, Pure Drop IV. DJ Farrah Flosscett will perform full-time at the hotel and SoFar Sounds will perform live throughout the summer.
