Batam Marriott Hotel Harbour Bay has started welcoming guests into its luxurious setting on the waterfront. This sophisticated hotel is clearly offering something fresh and exciting on Batam – we find out more.

New Marriott hotel changes the game in Indonesia

The world’s largest hotel company is tapping into the laid-back vibes of island life with its first Marriott-branded property on Batam, an idyllic destination just a 40-minute express ferry ride away from Singapore.

Rajeev Menon, president for Asia Pacific (excluding Greater China) at Marriott, said: “We are very happy to introduce our signature Marriott Hotels brand to Batam, setting a new benchmark for both business and leisure travel in Batam. This is the first five-star hotel to open on the island, and the second Marriott Hotels-branded property in Indonesia.

“Every Marriott Hotel is thoughtfully designed to let guests have the space to work, relax and be inspired, and this is exactly what guests will find when they come stay with us at Batam Marriott Hotel Harbour Bay.”

Business, pleasure and leisure at Harbour Bay

Visitors to Batam come for its golf courses, adventure sports out on the water, wellness spas, seafood-focused culinary delights and relaxed atmosphere. The 216-key Batam Marriott Hotel Harbour Bay offers guests the very best of the island, with convenient access to key attractions like the Nagoya City Center, home to one of Indonesia’s largest Buddhist temples, as well as Barelang Bridge, spanning three islands in the Riau archipelago.

Batam Marriott Hotel Harbour Bay should appeal to leisure and business travellers alike. Each of the hotel’s 216 rooms is set up for both relaxing and flexible working, and the property offers corporate guests the use of its meeting and events facilities, which include a 1,300 sq m ballroom and five fully connected meeting rooms.

There are five F&B outlets onsite, meanwhile, ranging from a semi-open-air lounge bar to a signature restaurant serving authentic local and regional cuisine. Plus, a 24-hour fitness centre means guests can keep fit on the go, and an outdoor pool and kids area makes the hotel ideal for families.

“As an international business and holiday destination located just a short ferry hop from neighbouring Singapore and Malaysia, Batam has long welcomed visitors to its shores,” said Sean Raine, the hotel’s general manager. “With the opening of Batam Marriott Hotel Harbour Bay, we look forward to providing sophisticated spaces and warm hospitality to discerning guests who seek a place to do some work, relax or recharge when they travel to this lovely island.”

Marriott International is based in Bethesda, Maryland and encompasses a portfolio of more than 7,000 properties around the world.
