Fasano debuts group’s tenth hotel with opening in São Paulo

The new Fasano São Paulo Itaim is the second Fasano hotel in the Brazilian city of São Paulo. The hotel lies within the city’s Itaim-Bibi neighbourhood.

This May-opened hotel pays homage to the city’s original Fasano hotel, Fasano São Paulo Jardins, which opened 20 years ago.

Signature Fasano design

The May opening of Fasano São Paulo Itaim follows the recent openings of Fasano Fifth Avenue in New York City and Fasano Trancoso in Bahia, which together reflect the group’s global expansion ambitions. The new hotel was developed in partnership with JHSF.

The architect Marcio Kogan, who led the design for Fasano São Paulo Jardins, was invited to design the new property with a focus on preserving the brand’s signature look. Together with Aflalo/Gasperini, Kogan paired classic touches from the brand’s Italian heritage with contemporary flourishes.

The brand’s characteristic design is showcased first in the lobby and interconnected lobby bar featuring the furnishings of Italian furniture company Minotti, including the Brasília and Daiki lines by Marcio Kogan’s Studio MK27. Additional items by Brazilian designers like Geraldo de Barros meet antiques that were hand-picked in France, Italy and Brazil by Ana Joma Fasano and Gero Fasano.

A new lifestyle destination

The property spans 20 floors and is home to 107 residential-style rooms and suites with decor that’s curated to be a timeless journey through Brazilian design across the generations. The suites are decorated with images of ancient Italy, which were all collected by Gero Fasano.

A highlight of the property is its 100-seat restaurant, Gero, which has been opened at the hotel in celebration of the original Gero restaurant’s 30th anniversary. The new restaurant, led by acclaimed chef Lomanto Oliveira, features a terrace and 20-guest private dining space.

Other amenities setting this hotel apart then include the hotel’s five spa treatment rooms, two saunas, beauty salon, state-of-the-art gym, business centre equipped with five meeting rooms, and on the property’s top floor, a panoramic bar and pool.

Fasano São Paulo Itaim also encompasses a residential building home to 70 apartments, a leisure area, hospitality amenities and gastronomic services.
