Accor brand Fairmont Hotel & Residences is to convert an existing golf resort in southern Spain into a luxury complex under its umbrella.

La Hacienda Alcaidesa Links Golf Resort in the Cadiz municipality of San Roque will be transformed into Fairmont La Hacienda, with a soft launch in the next 12 months and full opening slated for Easter 2024.

Multi-million investment

Following the opening of La Hacienda’s redesigned links course this summer, the 323-room hotel and villas will complete the multi-million-Euro investment project and the resort’s elevation to a flagship golf destination in southern Europe.

Accommodation will include 153 hotel guestrooms with three junior suites and two two-bedroom suites, as well as 51 villas, 30 junior suites and 30 one-bedroom suites. 36 further villas will be sold to third parties and will come complete with a private pool, extensive living room and kitchen amenities.

Beachfront complex

The complex will also feature five restaurants and bars, including a pool bar and a beach restaurant, as well as swimming pools, spa, fitness centre, ballroom and a selection of flexible meeting rooms. This is all in addition to the two golf courses, the Heathland and Links, as well a contemporary clubhouse, halfway house with restaurant, driving range and practice area.

The gated golf and residential development will be set on 400 hectares of land with beachfront views of the Mediterranean, Gibraltar and Africa.

Luxury benchmark

Javier Illán, president and CEO of the project’s developer, Millenium Hospitality Real Estate, said: “We are proud that a globally recognised brand such as Fairmont has signed on to manage one of our properties, especially in one of the top luxury destinations in Spain. I am convinced that the future Fairmont hotel will be a benchmark for luxury in Europe and, without a doubt, one of the assets with the greatest value potential of our portfolio.”

Luxury hotel brand Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has a portfolio of more than 80 properties across the globe, with more than 30 in the pipeline, including: Fairmont La Marina Rabat-Sale in Morocco, Fairmont Costa Canuva in Punta Mita, Mexico, and Fairmont Hotel Mumbai Airport in India.
