Fairfield by Marriott has opened its first hotel in Thailand. The property, Fairfield by Marriott Krabi Ao Nang Beach, is located in Ao Nang, one of the most visited coastal areas in Southern Thailand. It is the brand’s entry into the country and adds to its growth across Asia Pacific. Fairfield now has more than 1,395 properties in 20 countries and territories, making it the largest brand in Marriott International’s portfolio.
Cristiano Rinaldi, Marriott’s Chief Lodging Product & Services Officer for Asia Pacific excluding China, said the brand aims to help travelers keep their routines on the road. He pointed to the Krabi location as a useful base for exploring the area. The hotel is close to shops, restaurants, and bars in Ao Nang. Boat trips to Railay Bay and the Phi Phi Islands depart from nearby points, and Krabi International Airport is about 27 kilometers away.
Garden View, Pool View, and Pool Access
The hotel has 218 guestrooms and suites across six room categories. Options include Garden View, Pool View, and Pool Access rooms, ranging from 24 to 48 square meters. Each room has floor-to-ceiling windows, a private balcony, and a workspace. Layouts are available for couples, families, and groups of friends, so travelers can choose a setup that fits their party.
Outside the rooms, guests have two swimming pools, and one includes a water slide for children. A fitness center is open 24 hours a day for those who want to keep up their workouts. The beach, local restaurants, and island excursions are all within easy reach of the property. Kritchanut Phramthong, the hotel’s Multi-Property General Manager, said the goal is a warm, uncomplicated stay.
Dining Options
Breakfast is served as a buffet at the all-day dining restaurant, with a mix of local and international dishes. Guests can also eat at Breeze Café & Bistro, which serves Thai and international food for lunch and dinner. The venue also hosts evening entertainment. The hotel offers several places to eat and drink, including:
- Style Bar: Casual drinks and sunset cocktails
- S Bar: Light bites and beverages by the pool
Fairfield draws its name from the Fairfield Farm, the Marriott family retreat. The brand was built around friendly service and design that separates living, working, and sleeping areas in each room. Marriott describes the approach as one that helps guests stay on their usual schedules while traveling. The Krabi hotel follows that model, with workspaces in the rooms and a gym open around the clock.
