The forthcoming urban-chic hotel, part of Marriott International’s Autograph Collection, will bring an immersive culinary experience to Atlanta’s Midtown neighbourhood.

Pairing luxury amenities with modern space and creative programming, Epicurean Atlanta promises to pulse with the energy of this gastronomically rich city.

A culinary adventure in Atlanta

When Epicurean Atlanta, a member of Marriott International’s Autograph Collection, opens in late summer 2021, it’ll provide travellers with a vibrant new place to stay at 1117 West Peachtree Street in the city’s Midtown area. This will be the second location for the Epicurean Hotel brand following on from the collaboration between Mainsail Lodging & Development and the legendary Bern’s Steak House in Tampa, Florida.

The Atlanta property aims to be an extension of the debut site’s commitment to excellence, delivering a fully immersive experience that pays tribute to the teachings of its namesake, Epicurus. It’s located within one of three towers at the 1105 West Peachtree property by Selig Development, connected to a 31-storey office tower and a luxury condo tower by a Sky Terrace.

“Atlanta has always been a hub for cultural immersion that spans art, renowned design, education and culinary talent,” said Mainsail Lodging & Development founder Joe Collier. “We want to embed ourselves in the local landscape and breathe more life into the fabric of the city.”

Atlanta-inspired design

Atlanta-based architectural and interior design firm Rule Joy Trammell + Rubio has been tasked with bringing the vision of an urban foodie and wine lover’s paradise to life; modern interiors with luxury finishes will encompass 178 guest rooms, including 22 suites. In addition, specially curated artwork will highlight some of the landmarks found across Atlanta, including dining destinations like Sweet Auburn Market.

Among the design details dotted throughout the hotel will be 3D wooden art installations reminiscent of apple-tree branches, paying homage to Georgia’s reputation for apple production.

The Epicurean experience

On top of this, the hotel is promising amenities that’ll appeal to all tastes and appetites, including the Epicurean Theatre presenting a range of award-winning chefs, mixologists, winemakers and artists. This 1,964 sq ft space, fitted with Sub-Zero and Wolf kitchen facilities as well as 86-inch LED TVs, will accommodate up to 100 guests for immersive culinary events.

Meanwhile, the Sky Terrace, which covers one acre, will be open to visitors on the hotel’s ninth floor. This modern space affording far-reaching city views will encompass a café, a resort-style swimming pool with temperature-controlled cabanas and an events lawn.

“Atlanta’s food scene is on fire and Epicurean Atlanta will bring that culinary interest to the next level,” said general manager Marc Bauer. “We’re looking to build upon what already makes Midtown great and solidify Atlanta as the ultimate dining destination in the region.”
