Ennismore lines up Ibiza double

Accor’s Ennismore division is planning two new hotels on the Spanish island of Ibiza, set to open in June 2023.

Mondrian Ibiza and Hyde Ibiza will be the lifestyle arm’s first sites on the party isle, with both located in Cala Llonga bay.

Regional growth

The pair will collectively include nine food and beverage outlets with pool spaces, nightlife, and music venues. The project reflects Ennismore’s growth in the region, with 15 hotels opening in Europe in 2023.

The hotels have been designed by Spanish firms Beades Architects and Cuarto Interior, and will operate seasonally from June through mid-October. They will launch in partnership with Grupo Azul Mar Cala Llonga, owned by Apollo.

Mediterranean Mondrian

Mondrian Ibiza will be a luxury lifestyle hotel offering 154 guestrooms and three dining destinations. The culinary offerings include Niko, a Japanese restaurant specialising in sushi; The Perq will be a day to night coffee bar, while Sun & Moon will be an all-day coffee and cocktail bar serving light bites and drinks with Australian-influenced comfort food and local mixology.

The seaside hotel will feature two pools overlooking the ocean, with suites that overlook the Mediterranean Sea.

Colourful design

Design touches include moments of colour throughout public and private spaces, as well as an art programme.

Public spaces include an expansive terrace with bay views and VIP fire pits as well as a deep blue reception area.

Bohemian Hyde

Located adjacent to Mondrian Ibiza, Hyde Ibiza will have 401 guestrooms featuring a ‘bohemian chic’ aesthetic, utilising natural textures, custom millwork and artisan touches such as a table inspired by jewellery from Ibiza, while suites will feature enhanced materiality and Balearic Island views.

Activated public spaces will provide an opportunity to make connections while discovering pop-ups, partnerships and programming.  Design touches include social elements such as a signature oversized sofa in the lobby along with warm woods, timbered details and hand-crafted accents.

Distinct dining

The hotel will offer five food and beverage locations, including an ocean-to-table restaurant showcasing Balearic produce; a lounge-style pool bar; a day club with cabanas; a chiringuito-style beach club; and a speakeasy.

Hyde Ibiza is aiming to bring a vibrant pool scene with a relaxed live music venue to the island, providing a hub for both Ibiza’s homegrown talent as well as internationally-sourced artists.

Positive pipeline

Mondrian Ibiza and Hyde Ibiza join Ennismore’s growing pipeline of 144 hotels.

Elsewhere in Spain this includes SLS Barcelona, a 490-key beachfront development due to complete in Q2 2024. Each guestroom will have a balcony. The hotel will provide rooftop dining and bars as part of its food and beverage offer, while amenities will include three swimming pools, a 772 sq m ballroom, a spa and beauty salon, and a well-being and fitness centre.
