Key West has just received a further dose of charm with the launch of Ella’s Cottages, the latest addition to the Kimpton Key West portfolio scattered throughout the picture-postcard island.

Quaint bohemian charm

Occupying a series of structures that started life in the 1800s as homes for the area’s Cuban cigar makers and later operated as a tailor’s, a butcher’s, a gambling house and a beauty salon, the stylish property is ensconced within lush greenery that enables guests to watch the lively Key West scene straight from their front porches.

Seamlessly blending modernity with 19th-century authenticity, the scheme has 22 airy guestrooms and cottages, including five suites, with private patios and dressed in fresh hues with vibrant accents, simple, contemporary furnishings, Turkish robes, in-room yoga mats and luxury Atelier Bloem bath amenities.

A central location in Key West

“Ella’s Cottages has an eclectic sense of character and a really fun backstory that is uniquely Key West,” said Kimpton Key West general manager Cheryl Martin. “The property offers a peaceful setting in a quaint neighbourhood of Old Town, providing our guests the perfect spot to sit with their morning coffee or an afternoon cocktail.”

There’s also a secluded outdoor pool open to residents, and a continental breakfast is served daily. For anything else, Ella’s Cottages is located just steps from lively Duval Street and a short walk away from the other Kimpton Key West properties, of which the last one, Ridley House, is due to open in early 2021.
