Following a seven-year reconceptualisation and restoration of a collection of historic buildings, Four Seasons Hotel Madrid is now taking reservations for its grand opening in September.

Four Seasons Hotel Madrid, featuring 200 rooms and suites plus a new dining concept from three-Michelin-starred chef Dani Garcia, has begun confirming reservations for arrivals from 15 September 2020 onwards. We take a look inside this mammoth project.

A gem seven years in the making

Spain’s capital is set to get a new jewel in its hospitality crown with the much-anticipated arrival of Four Seasons Hotel Madrid. Years in the planning, this exciting property involved the amalgamation of seven historic buildings within the centrally located Centro Canalejas.

Christoph Schmidinger, Four Seasons regional vice president and the hotel’s general manager, said: “It’s truly been a labour of passion and love as these beautiful buildings transform into a fantastic setting for a new chapter in their histories. Our owner-partners OHL Desarrollos and Mohari Hospitality, and our all-star team of artisans, culinarians and hoteliers, share our vision for offering a very personalised Four Seasons experience in a truly extraordinary setting.”

An ambitious team effort

The hotel will incorporate 200 guest rooms and suites, all of which have been overseen by a team of experts in their respective fields; the property’s interiors, for example, were designed by BAMO, BG Architecture, Martin Brudnizki, AvroKO and Luis Bustamante. Astoundingly, over 3,700 artefacts were preserved across the seven buildings and are now on display in the hotel.

The property is also being positioned as a new culinary highlight of Madrid, a city already renowned for its vibrant food scene. In particular, its hotly tipped restaurant Dani will be spearheaded by three-Michelin-starred chef Dani Garcia and serve high-quality Andalusian cuisine from an unrivalled rooftop setting.

Located in the very centre of the city, just a stone’s throw from Kilometer Zero, the opulent Four Seasons Hotel Madrid is close to the famous Retiro Park and the Golden Triangle of Art neighbourhood.

Four Seasons is a Canadian-based company that manages an international portfolio of luxury five-star hotels and resorts.
