dusitD2 to make Bali debut with two hotels in Kuta
Global hospitality company Dusit International has signed a management agreement with Indonesian property developer PT. Merpati Abadi Sejahtera and PT. Ayana Realty to bring the chic and modern dusitD2 brand to Indonesia for the first time.
Slated for completion in 2018 in Kuta, a surfer’s paradise and bustling entertainment district on the famed island of Bali, two new properties will open carrying the dusitD2 name: dusitD2 Sunset Road and dusitD2 Kuta Beach, Bali.
Both hotels will cater to the needs of today’s tech-savvy travellers who are seeking modern convenience in environments that are vibrant, stylish and fun. Both properties will feature comfortable furnishings and elegant décor, all artfully arranged to inspire guests.
dusitD2 Sunset Road is being constructed in the heart of a vibrant shopping, dining and leisure district in the centre of Kuta near the upmarket and fashionable Seminyak town. Providing the perfect springboard to a host of adventures, ranging from surfing and scuba diving to trekking and horse riding, the hotel is just 15 minutes by car from the sandy Kuta Beach, Double Six Beach, the beachfront Beachwalk shopping mall, Mal Bali Galeria shopping mall, and the lively Legian beachfront area.
Upon completion, the property will feature 380 guest rooms, three international restaurants, a rooftop bar, a fitness studio, spa and swimming pool. A separate building of approximately 100 rooms will operate as a condotel, making it an enticing prospect for property investors.
dusitD2 Kuta Beach, Bali, meanwhile, is situated in the middle of the island’s most famous beach, whose year-round surf, long wide stretch of sand, and pulsating nightlife attracts tourists from all corners of the globe. Comprising 278 guestrooms distributed across two buildings, the hotel will feature a stunning design reflecting the vibrancy of this key location. Among its facilities are one international restaurant, a rooftop bar, a fitness studio, spa and swimming pool.
Both properties are within 30 minutes’ drive of Ngurah Rai International Airport.
“We are delighted to partner with PT. Merpati Abadi Sejahtera and PT. Ayana Realty to bring the dusitD2 brand to Indonesia,” said Dusit International’s Chief Operating Officer, Mr Lim Boon Kwee. “Bali is world-renowned for its sandy beaches, lush rice terraces, rolling hills, colourful culture, and vibrant arts scene, and Kuta is the perfect base from which to explore it all. With its Plug n’ Play facilities, free WiFi, and modern design, our ‘next generation’ dusitD2 brand is perfectly positioned to meet the needs of the young, tech-savvy travellers who make up the majority of the island’s some ten million annual foreign visitors. We look forward to welcoming them in 2018.”
Mr Kianto Widjaya, President Director of PT. Merpati Abadi Sejahtera, is equally buoyant. “Carefully designed to blend in with the natural surroundings, while still offering all the modern conveniences one could hope for, both properties will set a new high standard of modern hospitality in Bali,” he said. “The sophisticated sensibilities of guests and local residents are a definite inspiration for the development of our group, which is destined to take hospitality in Bali to the next level, fulfilling the desires of those who appreciate the elements of rich and stimulating culture combined with a globally connected existence.”
To date, Dusit International has opened dusitD2 resorts in Thailand, U.S.A., China and Kenya, and is now in the process of opening properties in Bhutan, China, Mongolia, Myanmar, Oman, the Philippines, Qatar, and U.A.E. The group’s other key hotel brands include Dusit Thani, Dusit Princess, and Dusit Devarana.
