Billed as “a world-class retreat for business and leisure travellers”, the luxurious Dusit Thani Tianmu Mountain, Hangzhou is set within an area of outstanding natural beauty.

This extraordinary resort development, just an hour’s drive from Hangzhou city centre, has taken a major step forward.

Thai-inspired hospitality at Tianmu Mountain

Bangkok-based hospitality group Dusit International, which is represented in China by Dusit Fudu Hotels and Resorts, has signed a management agreement with Zhejiang Dahua Group to operate Dusit Thani Tianmu Mountain, Hangzhou in Lin’an County.

“We are honoured and delighted to continue our sustainable expansion in China by bringing our unique brand of Thai-inspired, gracious hospitality to the beautiful hills of Tianmu Mountain,” said Suphajee Suthumpun, group CEO, Dusit International.

“Serving as a world-class retreat for business and leisure travellers alike, Dusit Thani Tianmu Mountain, Hangzhou has all the elements in place to deliver the memorable experiences our guests and customers deserve while uniquely linking them with nature. We look forward to shaping the resort into a must-visit destination that offers a luxurious gateway to this magnificent area while bringing enduring value to all stakeholders.”

Chen Yu Hai, president of Zhejiang Dahua Group, added: “Dusit International’s commitment to sustainable operations, genuine care for its communities and exceptional customer experience matches perfectly with our vision for this very special project. Under Dusit’s management, we are confident Dusit Thani Tianmu Mountain, Hangzhou will be a resounding success, and we look forward to a long and prosperous relationship together.”

An immersion into the surroundings

This resort lies close to the Unesco-listed Tianmushan Biosphere Reserve, known for its ancient trees, valleys and mountain peaks home to rare species such as the clouded leopard. It’ll contain 160 villas and guestrooms, along with facilities including an all-day dining restaurant, a Chinese restaurant, an outdoor swimming pool and hot mineral pools, a fitness centre, the Namm Spa and two ballrooms with adjoining function rooms.

Guests will be able to spend their time on nature hikes or in arts and crafts workshops at the Tianmu Mountain Nature Centre. And the region’s reputation for ceramic glazed teacups is to be celebrated at the resort, with examples of local pottery on display.

As well as being only an hour’s drive from Hangzhou city centre, the site is just 90 minutes away from Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport and a 20-minute drive from a new high-speed rail station linking it with Shanghai.
