Dream Hotel Group has teamed up with real estate developer Los Amigos to operate three properties in the beautiful seaside town of Tulum in Mexico.

Dream Hotel Group is already looking to the future after coronavirus rocked the hospitality industry in the first quarter of 2020. With countries around the world gradually easing lockdown restrictions and the prospects for the travel sector looking slightly less bleak than it did a couple of months ago, hotel companies such as Dream are busy putting plans in place for the coming years. We find out more about Dream’s recent signing in Mexico.

Dream bets on lifestyle hotels in Tulum

Dream Hotel Group has signed a deal with local real estate developers Los Amigos to operate three new hotels in Tulum, Mexico. The three properties will consist of two condo-hotels and one beachfront hotel, and will transfer into the hands of Dream’s new lifestyle brand By Dream Hotel Group between the end of this year and into next year.

This could prove to be a shrewd move by New York-based Dream Hotel Group, which is obviously betting on the lifestyle and boutique sector remaining popular among travelers when the immediate threat of coronavirus has passed and guests start returning to hotels. This market has been widely tipped to bounce back relatively quickly, given its focus on offering personalised service and local experiences. So perhaps it’s little wonder that the three Tulum projects to be operated by Dream will come under the umbrella of the company’s newly created lifestyle brand.

Turning dreams into reality

The three proposed hotels are all located in the ever-popular tourist destination of Tulum, and will be rebranded to become the Central Park Lagunas by Dream Hotel Group Tulum, Central Park Rios by Dream Hotel Group Tulum and The Beach Club by Dream Hotel Group Tulum. Collectively, they will add 303 rooms to Dream’s portfolio, and bring the total of group properties on the Riviera Maya to five – and eight in Mexico as a whole.

In the final quarter of 2020, Dream hopes to welcome the first of its newly signed properties, the Central Park Lagunas by Dream Hotel Group Tulum, which will boast 177 rooms as well as a fitness centre and spa and state-of-the-art pool facilities. The Beach Club by Dream Hotel Group Tulum will then open in 2021, joining an existing waterfront property that will be extended to contain a further 20 keys, while winter 2022 will see the opening of the Central Park Rios by Dream Hotel Group Tulum, a 120-key property with several fitness areas, a signature F&B outlet, lobby lounge and pool deck.
