Diriyah Gate Development Authority has announced plans to open an Armani Hotel in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia.

Located in the ancient city of Diriyah, this signature Armani Hotel will draw on the unique architecture and landscape of the area.

An inspiring locale

Armani Hotels & Resorts and Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) are collaborating on the creation of this new Armani Hotel in the Diriyah development, which is a part of Saudi Vision 2030, promising to become a cultural and lifestyle destination that’s inspired by the country’s heritage.

Emaar Hospitality Group is to manage the property. By staying here, guests will have an introduction to the 300-year-old site of Diriyah, which is located just 15 minutes from Riyadh’s centre, along with its UNESCO site At-Turaif, the valley and palm groves of Wadi Hanifah and pedestrian-centric Diriyah development.

When it reaches completion, this development will encompass 13 different districts home to museums and cultural institutions, fine dining restaurants, residences, hospitality, office space, retail and outdoor attractions.

Giorgio Armani said: “This is a pioneering project that was borne from rediscovering Saudi Arabia’s roots: a dialogue between history and the present that I find very fascinating. Armani Hotel Diriyah allows me to interpret my idea of lifestyle and hospitality in a particularly subtle and embracing way.”

“After celebrating the tenth anniversary of the opening of the Armani Hotels in Milan and Dubai, I am ready to take on this exciting new challenge. I am inspired by this initiative and delighted to be part of a project of such wide geographical and cultural scope.”

Jerry Inzerillo, group CEO of Diriyah Gate Development Authority, commented: “It is an honour to partner with Armani Hotels on this prestigious project. Their elegant and forward-thinking approach to modern hospitality will bring a new dynamic to Diriyah’s hospitality offering and bring with it an exciting guest experience to the Kingdom.”

“As we develop what will become one of the world’s great gathering places, rich in culture, history and authenticity, we are proud to partner with brands such as Armani who demonstrate such a timeless approach to hospitality.”

A design collaboration

As the third property in the Armani hotel portfolio, Armani Hotel Diriyah will represent a new take on the brand’s hospitality concept as it reflects its unique location.

This hotel is now being developed by Diriyah in partnership with Giorgio Armani and his in-house team of interior designers and architects to create a property that aligns with Saudi Arabia’s aesthetics and landscape.

In a position overlooking the development’s ultra-luxury hospitality and retail quarter, this hotel will house 70 luxurious rooms, along with two restaurants and a spa. Suites will have their own spa and pool.

This hotel offering will then be joined by 18 ultra-luxury Armani Branded Residences, which are to be designed and furnished by Armani with appealing features including landscaped terraces, rooftops and outdoor pools.
