German hotel group Deutsche Hospitality has announced the opening of IntercityHotel Nizwa, the modern upper mid-range brand’s second property in the Sultanate of Oman.

Oman’s cultural capital Nizwa has just welcomed a new Deutsche Hospitality hotel. Guests to the city can look forward to an impressive blend of European and Middle Eastern cultures in this stylish 120-key property.

Intercity scores in Oman for the second time

The new IntercityHotel Nizwa comes on the back of the success of 2016’s IntercityHotel Salalah. It’s located at the base of the Al-Hajar mountains, and benefits from all of the cultural highlights that Nizwa has to offer.

Thomas Willms, CEO of Deutsche Hospitality, said: “We are delighted to be establishing a further IntercityHotel in Oman. Oman offers fantastic holiday destinations and an outstanding host culture. Our guests in Nizwa will be provided with a new international hotel with superb services that combine both European and Arab influences.”

History and connection in Nizwa

Nizwa is widely regarded as an important trading centre with historic links to other important Omani destinations such as Muscat and Salalah.

IntercityHotel properties can be found everywhere from bustling urban centres to calming natural getaways. IntercityHotel Nizwa offers the best of both worlds, with prime access to local attractions including the Nizwa Grand Mall and the Aqua Water Park, as well as the nearby Al-Hajar mountain range.

Onsite amenities at the hotel include 120 well-appointed guest rooms and suites, a restaurant, a cafe, an Aqua Pool Bar, a health and fitness centre, a gym, a spa, a steam bath and a rooftop swimming pool. The property will no doubt also appeal to business travellers, who can avail themselves of the ample meeting, conference and event facilities, which include a 700-person ballroom and flexible rooms for corporate use.

“The huge ballroom, the rooftop pool and the events rooms are all USPs [unique selling points] for us in this wonderful city,” said Anees Shinnara, general manager of IntercityHotel Nizwa. “The whole team is ready to fire the enthusiasm of our guests.”

In next-generation IntercityHotel properties, guests will find everything they’d expect of a modern city hotel.
