With the reopening of the Gorgeous Smiling Hotels’ Maison Schiller, Munich sees a fun, new boutique hotel pop up in a city centre landmark
After a costly renovation, the Maison Schiller has opened its doors to guests in Munich’s Schillerstraße.
Under the umbrella of the Gorgeous Smiling Hotels GmbH (GSH), the Maison Schiller has become the first hotel in the group’s new DesignCity Hotels brand.
Growing footprint in Munich region
A few minutes’ walk from Munich Central Station, Karlsplatz and the Wiesn, this boutique hotel is in the best of company. The Maison Schiller is the third Gorgeous Smiling Hotel in Munich’s city center. The GSH Group now operates a total of 14 hotels in the Munich region.
“We are very pleased that, together with our architect Hubert Erlmoser from Plan-Consult GmbH, we were able to bring this architectural jewel in our hometown of Munich to life through strong cooperation and an innovative approach,” say the Wirth brothers, the owners of this property.
Modern welcome, boutique setting
Behind the façade of this completely refurbished building, which is listed as a protected landmark, guests will find a 24-hour reception, a breakfast buffet and 48 rooms.
The basic features of the newly renovated rooms include modern bathrooms with underfloor heating, Wi-Fi, smart TVs and air conditioning.
The hotel restaurant Foodwalk offers a menu changing daily and is available to hotel guests and locals alike, many of whom tend to be professionals from the surrounding office buildings.
Menachem Weissbach, managing director of the hotel, said: “With Maison Schiller, a great idea has been put into action. Through our unique concept, we have revived this venerable building in Schiller Street. We are sure our visitors will share our enthusiasm and are looking forward to welcoming our first hotel guests!”
