It is common knowledge that being outside reduces stress, releases ‘happiness’ chemicals in our brains and makes us more sociable.

Encouraging travellers to engage with nature

Hotels may seem artificial at times, but patios can bring the missing nature to the experience.

Having an outdoor space gives guests the opportunity to relax after a long day of exploration (or work!). It is a place to slow down, breathe some fresh air, forget your worries and get away from the city’s accelerated nature.

Today’s selection of designs exceeded our expectations; there’s paralleled brick walls that frame Thailand’s sky, sophisticated and eclectic design on a cobblestone-floored Parisian patio, geometric walls with Australian botanical influences, a sophisticated renovation of a romantic historical building, and a beautiful olive tree that acts as a centrepiece of a patio.
