Design showcase: Top five elevator halls

by | 25 Aug 2021 | Design

We pick out five hotels around the world, from Vienna to Hanoi, that have turned this most practical of features into a real talking point in our latest TOPHOTELDESIGN exclusive.

This week, we dive into otherworldly elevator halls where guests will find themselves lost in the attractiveness of their surroundings.

Elevating the guest experience

Picture this: you’re on the first floor of a 100-storey building and you’re waiting for the elevator to get through 50 storeys. You’re staring at the floor, checking your phone, looking at anything that will make time go faster.

In this week’s top five selection of elevator halls, we explore outstanding designs that make time fly.

Venture into Capella Hanoi’s art deco-style mural evoking the history of Vietnam.

Amuse yourself with fascinating colourful artworks at The Whitby Hotel.

Feel the residential character of The Westin Perth, with its distinctive combinations of the raw and refined, and the urban and natural.

Become an actor in the ‘backstage on stage’ theatrical concept of Hotel Am Konzerthaus Vienna MGallery.

And explore sophisticated art pieces inspired by Taoism at Holiday Inn Resort Maoshan Hot-Spring, located near the historic site of the most important Taoist temples and monasteries in China.
