Design showcase: Top five designs with arches

We take a look at stylish hotel projects from London to Brisbane that really raise the bar with their elegant arches in the latest instalment of our collaboration with TOPHOTELDESIGN.
The arch: an iconic element in the history of architecture. From massive Roman aqueducts to vaults, the arch has been present in many different styles and eras.
Lifting expectations
This week, classic elegance meets contemporary design. We’ve selected five projects that use arches in distinctive, tasteful ways.
The Calile Hotel for its up-to-date curves and arches that sweep through calm pathways of tranquil palettes and soothing textures.
Corinthia Palace Malta for its classic-style big arches and neutral-coloured serene spaces.
Kimpton Da An Hotel for its bold shapes and eye-catching textures that surround multifaceted arches.
Montcalm East, Shoreditch London for its smart way of dividing a double-height lobby with sophisticated wooden arches that form a vault-like pathway.
And One&Only Portonovi for its kaleidoscopic mirror effect, produced by metallic arches.
