For our latest TOPHOTELDESIGN exclusive, we look inside London’s recently opened Staybridge Suites hotel, where the interior design of Studio Mica is complemented by furniture from Parla.

Located in the heart of the Heathrow area, this all-suite property provides a stylish yet homely place to stay just five minutes from the airport on Bath Road.

Designed for an extended stay

The 2019-completed Staysuite Suites London – Heathrow Bath Road is distinguished by its hospitality concept, aimed at catering for extended stays. Designed to make guests feel right at home, interiors combine a residential feel with impeccable finishes.

London-based design firm Studio Mica, which is also behind the interiors of other design-led properties like Nobu Hotel London Shoreditch, came up with the polished yet natural look for this contemporary hotel comprising 145 spacious studios and 45 one-bedroom suites.

Each studio and suite encompasses a wealth of facilities aimed in particular at the extended-stay guest, such as fully fitted kitchens that enable guests to prepare their own food as though they were at home.

Meanwhile, the hotel’s lobby houses a pantry-style food store, The Pantry, and there’s a complimentary laundrette onsite. Comfortable living areas and flexible working spaces can be found throughout the property too, along with a gym and ‘the den’, which is equipped with games consoles.

A residential-style concept

Designed for comfort and convenience, the hotel’s abundant facilities make it well-suited to families, couples and business travellers, as well as those taking early-morning or late-night flights from Heathrow.

Stylish interiors pair natural hues with design features in rich teal and vintage mustard colours – expect parquet and patterned floors, sumptuous banquette seating and statement lighting. Carefully considered details like polished charcoal-finish kitchen facilities are present too, alongside the furniture of Turkish designer and manufacturer Parla, a company that prides itself on fusing traditional craftsmanship with hi-tech Italian machinery.

The newbuild property, part of IHG’s popular Staybridge Suites brand, opened in January 2019. For this project, the hotel giant worked in partnership with developer Bathroad Corp. Ica served as the project’s architect.
