Contemporary design meets a natural setting
Parkhotel Egerner Höfe opened with a new design concept last year following the nine-month refurbishment of this property by LSA Architekten GmbH who set out to bring the natural surroundings into the 108-key hotel, with KAMPER Handwerk+Bau GmbH as the supplier.
LSA Architekten highlighted the beauty of the Tegernsee Valley through interior design featuring natural materials such as granite from the Walsertal and an oak wood relief showing the silhouette of the Bavarian Alps. A fireplace acts as a room divider in the lounge.
The hotel was designed for optimum sustainability with an energy-efficient heating and cooling system and a deep well for water, which is always recycled.
The vicinity of this property pairing traditional Bavarian architecture with contemporary design commands views over the meadows and paddocks of the Tegernsee Valley and shimmering water of Lake Tegernsee.
Gastronomy and wellness
The design-led hotel comprises 108 rooms and suites, along with facilities including a new wellness area and the Dichter gourmet restaurant.
This restaurant led by acclaimed chef Thomas Kellermann and the new Mangfall Spa both feature small glazed atriums containing evergreen yew trees and large window fronts making the most of the surrounding views.
The 1,500-sq-m spa encompasses a 20-metre pool, four saunas, a steam bath and ice lounge, along with a fitness area offering TRX training, aerial yoga and Pilates sessions.
Completing the new look, the hotel is furnished with armchairs by Austrian manufacturer Haapo and other furnishings by the Munich brand Lambert and decorated with the work of local artists.
Digitising the hotel experience, the hotel allows guests to check in, unlock their room and reserve a table at the restaurant via their smartphone.
