Our latest TOPHOTELDESIGN exclusive shines a light on the 2021-completed music-inspired Jaz in the City Vienna.

With the architecture of Hochform, interiors of BWM Architekten and lighting design of Pokorny Lichtarchitekter, this lifestyle hotel appeals to design lovers and music enthusiasts alike.

Music and culture

Reflecting its place in Deutsche Hospitality’s Jaz in the City brand collection, this Vienna property represents the lifestyle, music and cultural scene of the city.

Hochform Architekten led the site’s architectural design and BWM Architekten and Partners designed the interiors, with Pokorny Lichtarchitektur then undertaking the lighting design.

The hotel’s inspiration is first seen in its modern interpretation of Viennese architecture, which is the backdrop for a hospitality offering complementing Vienna’s vibrant music, cultural and restaurant scene.

Jaz in the City Vienna is located between Mariahilferstraße and the Naschmarkt in Windmühlgasse.

A locally inspired lifestyle hub

Celebrating Vienna’s status as a capital of music and lifestyle, the hotel integrates local inspiration into each aspect of the hotel experience. The reception area doubles as a record store and each of the 163 design-led rooms and suites include a record player.

Facilities also reflecting this inspiration include the Rhythms Bar & Kitchen restaurant focusing on local produce in its menus and a combination of diversity, tolerance and innovation in its overall vision.

The hotel is home to multi-functional event facilities and the mariatrink Drinks & Views rooftop bar with views over Vienna. Through these venues, the hotel acts as a stage for regular live music.

Guests are accommodated in 163 rooms and suites and meetings are held in 628 sqm of event space. Deutsche Hospitality created this property in partnership with the development company MTK Group AG.
