Our latest TOPHOTELDESIGN exclusive takes a closer look at DoubleTree by Hilton Rome Monti, which recently reopened following a major refurbishment by THDP.

Contemporary design inspired by the colours of Rome and traditional features that embody vintage Italian charm lie at the heart of this chic hotel in the Eternal City.

An appealing transformation

DoubleTree by Hilton Rome Monti reopened in April 2021 following a renovation and redesign of the Reale Immobili-owned hotel. Operated by HNH Hospitality under the DoubleTree by Hilton brand, this newly transformed property provides a welcoming place for business and leisure travellers to stay in Piazza dell’Esquilino.

The refurbishment, undertaken by hotel architecture and interior design specialist THDP, sought to significantly reduce the scheme’s environmental impact.

The property’s 125 guestrooms and eight suites are bathed in natural light – and decorated with colours that take inspiration from Rome. Contemporary comfort is paired with vintage Italian elements and touches, bringing the natural environment indoors, while plants feature alongside natural materials such as wood and stone to provide both character and warmth.

Designed for guests and locals

Guest accommodation and facilities at the hotel span seven floors in total. Among the notable amenities are a restaurant serving a reinterpretation of traditional Italian cuisine, a rooftop bar with panoramic terrace, a bar and cafeteria with its own entrance from Piazza Esquilino, three modular meeting rooms and a modern fitness space.

DoubleTree by Hilton Rome Monti is located in the dynamic neighbourhood of Rione Monti. It joins no fewer than five other Hilton Worldwide brands with a presence in the Italian capital.
